PLEASE what JT did was stupid wrong in violation of NCAA rules but it was not immoral..there was justification for punishment the administration chose not dismiss JT and gave him the suspension, etc. The NCAA will have their say then it will be time to move on. IT seems their is more to the whole incident but it may never come out....In summary JT was wrong what more is there to discuss..

What disciplinary action should be taken against Tressel.

What disciplinary action should be taken against the players involved.

What disciplinary action should be taken against the University.

What the next step is in upgrading compliance.

What the next step is in assuring that the violations don't occur in the future.

Whether or not anyone should lose their job.

How to approach the balance between NCAA bylaw and moral "law" in this and future issues.

etc...

I would have dismissed him if everything is on the table...I don't think it is The Osu administration and NCAA will not be reading this thread for guidance..on punishments..the player thread has been beat to death and so has this one. If more comes out I will be happy to discuss it.. I'm on to the Basketball ntournament..I will return when something new is produced by tOSU or NCAA..

Never read them and never will. One has to assume a stance of superior knowledge to teach a subject. Sorry if that doesn't fit the way you want to perceive him.

You are the one dealing in absolutes, not me. Tressels help of MoC afterward can be attributed to very little other than a genuine concern for the kids well being. I never said Tressel wasn't capable of that, you can't seem to come to grips with average run of the mill humans being capable of both or MoC and Ray Issac showing a precedent of this type of behavior which torpedo's the twisted logic in excuse #1 below.

So now everyone cheats and Tressel was just busted because he's such a target? A week and a half ago the company line was Tressel did not cheat. Period.

No mention of keeping it to himself just so happening to keep his star players eligible I see. Or of simply coming clean when it was clearly out of the bag back in December.

Everyone is free to believe whatever they like but intelligent, learned and well meaning men once would have bet the lives of their families on the Earth being flat. Almost overnight it was proven to be round and I'm quite sure a lot of them had a hard time coming to grips with it as well.

Look man, I will leave you be to your cynicism. Obviously you choose to believe the worst out of everyone. He made a mistake, is accepting his punishment, and WILL BE the coach of this team next fall and in the foreseeable future whether you like it or not. If you're so ashamed of JT and the university, make sure not to cheer and voice your disappointment this fall instead of supporting the other 80 players on the roster for working their tails off year round.

Unless you would prefer coaches who quit or take the easy way out:

EDIT: before you say anything, no I am not insinuating that criticizing your team for legitimate reasons makes you less of a fan. Just some support or good faith for your favorite team wouldn't be the worst thing.

I do support my favorite school because it in turn represents my home state. The sports teams associated with it are a distant second.

Choosing not to believe in the Easter Bunny doesn't change my loyalty to OSU.

Yeah, but be careful that your realization that Santa doesn't exist doesn't lead to you getting a lump of coal instead of the ten years of dominance we've enjoyed thus far.

Wait, wait wait. I know the Easter Bunny is bullshit but now your telling me Santa is fake?

WTF!? Next you are going to tell me leprechauns are fake and fuck up my enjoyment of orange creme margarita's on St Patties day?

You are a mean and cruel bearded bastard.

As an alumnus, I love the Gators. But I have no deep abiding love for the State of Florida at all. I hope they move every federal dollar they have marked for Florida to the state I live in now.

I know your sort of joking but as someone who has spent alot of time in Florida (what Ohio resident hasnt)....Florida is a vast state where there are few true Floridians and they are Seminoles:wink2:....but seriously I cant think of a state that is so different culturally from North to South, East to West with little sense of loyalty to one another

The transformation of Troy Smith being probably one of the best examples.

People use this example all the time..... and from my view it is a terrible one. Around the league and a lot of his team mates do not share this view at all. Did he have a great season on the field and say all the right things to the media that year... Yep.... but that is as far as I would go with it.

From what I remember, most of his teammates on the Ravens spoke very highly of him as a person and a leader. So come with more evidence than "around the league" before you talk shit about Troy. Kthx
