Acutally, it was smart, because if he self-imposed a one-year bowl ban, the NCAA would've tacked on another year like they did tacking on additional schollie reductions. So, now we only have a one-year ban...

I think the NCAA's decision will have specific wording for the bowl ban being after the 2012 season. That will also take tOSU out of the B1G CCG next year.

Damn the NCAA to Hell for not telling tOSU this before December 4th, and allowing the penalty to apply to this year's team, which included several players involved in the violations who won't be on next year's team.

You can appeal, but considering who's leading the appeal for Ohio State (namely Gene the Weak), it's pointless.

The entire administration is inept at times.
