Yeah, the whole thing was just venting really. Not too many fairweather fans post on BP. Except for JCOSU. Pretty sure he used to be an Iowa fan.

I hear you. I've locked myself in the office this morning already. I'm sure some around here will ask me my thoughts on the situation and theres really only one guy who's a true diehard CFB fan in here - and he's a fan of The U so it's not like he can say a fucking word (and even if he did he's a pretty level headed fan who doesn't just talk out his ass).

Crazy part here is the only person that has spoken to me this morning was my boss that just last week said something about "Irvin/Irwin Meyers". But he was spot on, and said great things about Tress. Guess he's not such a prick after all.

Eh, like I've been done has been said.....Hater's gonna hate.

I believe the biggest threat to OSU right now may be the Pryor car deal.

Tressel lied - and he was fired for it. We can start to put that behind us.

The kids with tats are a serious problem if SI is correct (and quit kidding yourselves - they are most likely spot on) and the number of violators on the current team is three times what OSU self reported. (Why can't our full time compliance staff dig up what SI was able to find?) But worst case this one is failure to monitor.

But the car issue has been out there for for a long time as well. If it turns out that TP was driving cars that were not legit AFTER OSU was notified that he was potentially driving cars that were not legit IMO this becomes an institutional control issue. The monitoring was done for you. Either you don't have effective policies for institutional control or you weren't following them.

I tend to agree with the car thing; a good compliance staff (and coaching staff) should notice when the star player has 6 or 7 different cars in 3 years and ask serious questions. Not so sure about the tattoo issue. Assuming for a moment that the compliance staff interviewed the players involved and asked them if other players were involved (which I once would have thought was a safe assumption!), what additional investigation do you think the NCAA would expect the compliance staff should have done? Should they have interviewed all players with tattoos? All players with lots of tattoos? If so, what more could they do than take those players at their word? Ask for receipts? Should they have conducted interviews with inmates at local prisons? I think these are difficult questions, but I'm not sure the NCAA would go that far.

He and Jason Whitlock should have been on BP last night. It was open mic night.

Whitlock was .. kinda, i post a few of his, what i'd call epic, twitter post a few pages back... I think he's one of the few guys in journalism that relatively unbiased, and will speak the truth.

Hearsay:
1. Unverified information heard or received from another; rumor.
2. Law Evidence based on the reports of others rather than the personal knowledge of a witness and therefore generally not admissible as testimony.

The national media claims that Pryor reported to a meeting last night.....with a new car?!? W....TF?!?

Okay, so....let me get this straight.....I'm 34....and have had 5 cars since I was 18 years old:

1. Pontiac POS
2. Ford Escort ZX2
3. Ford Focus (POS)
4. Olds Alero
5. Chevy Impala

Now, I don't have a list of the cars that Pryor has driven in the last 3 - 4 years since he's been there, but....he's been caught driving:

1. 2004 Denali
2. 2009 Dodge (don't know the make)
3. ???? Nissan 350z

I don't think this dude cares anymore. Something has to be done to maybe cut this guy loose from the school before they really do get blasted with a lack of instutional control from the NCAA....

Just my honest opinion.

I have stayed away from ESPiN, Fox Sports, B1G network, etc. for the past few weeks because I was sick and tired of hearing the OSU stuff coming out. Most of it, it seems, was just rehashing the same things over and over again just with different packaging.

Tressel has stepped down, which I believe is the only thing he could have done at this point short of getting fired by the BoT because of the negative media/national perception to the University retaining him would have brought.

I see the same happening for Gene Smith here very soon, whether he steps down voluntarily or takes it as far as getting fired by the BoT remains to be seen, but his presence in the AD will only bring the same negative attention as Tressel would have if he remained as HC.

I will say that I saw absolutely nothing on the whole situation on the local Fox station news (the only one I watch because they have the hottest news-ladies around!!) this morning, which tells me that it is not the big story that SI had presented it to be. For reference, the initial investigation/announcement back in December was covered on this station, as well as the press conference and subsequent stories that came out, but not one word about the SI allegations and accusations this morning.

Anyway, all I want out of this whole thing is to get the shit corrected and move forward from here. Unfortunately, over the past few years, the money involved in D1A sports has corrupted the one thing that I really enjoyed watching. I am not totally out as a fan of the sports (I will always be a tried and true Buckeye!) But my enthusiasm has taken a hit because of all this shit (USC, Auburn, Oregon, OSU, Alabama, FSU, etc) has really started making it hard to care about it as much as I did in the past.

I, for one, just want to be able to watch my Buckeyes take that field each and every Saturday knowing that the kids are playing for the passion of the game and the school, and not because of the extra benefits or promise of millions in the NFL. I, unfortunately, think that this feeling will not be present again anytime in the near future, and that makes me sad. :sad2:

It's all o.k.

The car was his Mom's, he knew so little about it he could barely start it.

the car that 10tv caught him in after doing undercover surveillance like he was a cappo in the mafia was a 2009 or 2010 white dodge challenger

Records obtained by 10 Investigates showed that Pryor owns a 2006 Dodge Charger. However, video taken by 10 Investigates showed Pryor entering a 2009 Dodge Challenger with dealer license plates, 10 Investigates' Paul Aker reported.
The 2009 vehicle was tracked to Auto Direct, located at 2300 E. Dublin-Granville Rd.

Auto Direct owner Jason Goss denied any wrongdoing to Aker and would not answer questions as to why Pryor was driving the vehicle. Goss said that he verbally notified university officials.
Pryor declined 10 Investigates' repeated requests to discuss his vehicles. Late last week, his roommate told Aker that Pryor's car blew an engine a few weeks earlier.

i understand its 10tv's job to investigate but they are going about some of this stuff with no regard for a university that has im sure helped them out for well over 25 years...and 10tv as some may or may not know is owned by the columbus dispatch...i guess i just hoped that if pryor was being videotaped undercover that it would be done by the NCAA or a national news organization...not a local one that is just trying to gain as much exposure as possible from this

Networks are all about the $$$...

tOSU = HUGE interest in Columbus, and around the country, so if they suspect wrongdoing, they're gonna go all out. They don't owe anything to the university. It strikes me as incredibly stupid, or obtuse, to be the start QB of Ohio State and drive around in, apparently, multiple expensive new cars when there is a very public investigation going on. People can be angry about the coverage all they want, but the bottom line is that it is a HUGE story, and the "alleged" perpitrators are making their job pretty damn easy.

I just want the truth out there, the necessary changes to be made, and to start with a clean slate. I'm well aware that this stuff goes on at most major universities, but for it to continue so publicly while under the gun is infuriating to me, and seems either incredibly arrogant or incredibly stupid for it to be continuing right now...at this moment. The whole scandel has really soured me towards the current incarnation of Ohio State football. I'll always be a fan of the people that do it the right way, and I hope we are now moving in that direction, because apparently, a lot of the kids and beaurocracy in C-bus right now aren't and I'm not sure how anyone can see it any other way.
