I ok with the brand split and hope this includes a split of the world and heavy weight titles. Maybe guys like Ambrose and Wyatt can get that push on Smackdown that they will never get as long as VKM has a boner for roman reigns.

There has been preliminary discussion as to who will lead the Raw and Smackdown brands after the upcoming brand split goes into effect, according to a featured write-up in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

While things are still very much up in the air, and plans can change at a moment’s notice in WWE, the Observer is reporting that current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns is the front-runner to captain Monday Night Raw, the company’s flagship broadcast, while John Cena may be moved to Smackdown to lead the brand once it goes live on Tuesday nights. Reigns, as a top babyface, would be opposite long-time rival Seth Rollins as Raw’s number one heel (although those roles could easily be reversed) while AJ Styles would be the expected top heel on Smackdown opposite Cena.

Smackdown is expected to be given a major push creatively once the jump to live TV is made, and will already have a major hill to climb as shows that change nights and/or timeslots generally lose a significant portion of their viewing audience initially. Given that WWE has treated their “blue brand” as secondary programming for years, the idea behind making John Cena an exclusive part of Smackdown is to actively fight against that stigma and bring eyes to Tuesday nights, as the USA Network has been less than pleased with the performance of both WWE brands in 2016.

The Observer also notes that a second world title is expected to be created for Smackdown (or for Raw, in the case that the current champion ends up moving to Smackdown), although there is no news on what WWE intends to do with the tag team or women’s divisions, as well as their secondary Intercontinental and United States titles.

Again, keep in mind that this is just the most recent report on WWE plans heading into the brand split, and until anything is officially announced, those plans can (and probably will) change. Repeatedly.

If they don't cut Raw back to 2 hours after the split, they might as well mail in the ratings, because no one is going to watch a show for 3 hours with half a roster.

And they're going to make 2 world titles now? So much for the "only prize in the industry" that the WWE WHT was supposed to be. I don't see how they can do 2 women or tag titles, they should put one division on one show and the other on the other, and split the secondaries. This will either work really well or be a total bomb.

WWE finalized a groundbreaking signing Thursday, making Bin Wang the first native of China to ink a developmental deal with the company.
.
.
.
In addition to Wang's signing, WWE announced a partnership with China's PPTV to distribute both Raw and SmackDown, and a WWE live event to be held in Shanghai on Sept. 10.

As the most populous country in the world with well over one billion people, China is a massive market that has largely been untapped by WWE over the years.

I'd love to see a Styles/Rollins feud for the wrestling alone. I'm typically a "storyline guy," but I'll bet those two would put on a hell of a show.

Rumors circulating that at least 6 NXT stars will be called up when the brand split draft happens.

I stopped watching Raw when it overlapped with the Cavs a few weeks ago, and I have to say I don't miss it. They had better do something spectacular with the split or I am out of the "weekly episodic" portion

I wonder what six....

Balor, Samoa Joe....Gable & Jordan?...Asuka....Austin Aries would be my guesses. Maybe let Nakamura carry the belt a bit before he joins up later.
