WR Ted Ginn, Jr. (Official Thread)

Overall I agree...I don't really think that he will drop to the second round but that's why I said at worst the second round...but like I said earlier...he can't improve his draft stock he can only verify that he should be there

I would love for Ginn to go to the Chargers. With the defense they have (especially with Wilhelm starting at LB now :)), LT, Rivers, Gates... look out. BTW, nfldraftscout.com has him landing in San Diego at 30.

My point is without his great speed(blazin 40 time) Ginn doesnt look nearly as good.
He must run a blazin time to separate from other possible top WR picks.
Otherwise he drops down.

No he doesn't. Unless a scout has never seen him play before he couldn't care less about his 40. His shuttle will mean more than his 40.

There have been a lot of "experts" saying his route running is not the best and he does not have the best hands. Personally, I did not see him drop a lot of balls. Also, flat out speed can make up for flaws in a route in a hurry.

He is seriously as fast as anyone I have ever seen in pads. Not to mention he is a former track star, so he should definitely be experianced with stances, starts, etc.

He has that elite speed that very few have, and I can't think of anyone that is "faster" than him. I am looking forward to see what kind of numbers he puts up.

Ginn doesnt last past the 15th pick. No way. No how. Matt Jones ran a 4.3 something 40 and flew up the draft boards and he sucks as a WR. Ginn will run 4.4 at least, unless he's still hobbled, but he is still a good WR. His special teams contributions alone are worth top 20 status.

Matt Jones led all rookie wide receiever his rookie year.

And he digressed terribly this year. Injury or not he had too many dropped passes and his route running is awful. Probably the biggest reason many have Jacksonville picking a WR in the first round.
