This isn't "pull up the tapes" season....it's "workout without pads, helmets and cleats" season. Teddy may slip to the bottom of the first round if his foot doesn't heal up pretty soon, and he may slip even if his foot does heal up pretty soon. One thing is for certain about the NFL draft, the draft position of the WR's will have little to do with how the players perform in the league. I don't care how high he goes in the draft, I would rather see him slip to the bottom of the first round....that's where most of the good teams draft.Big Papa;788360; said:I don't know what this person was smoking thinking that Ginn would be taken after Meachem and Bowe, but I want some of it. I realize that their thinking may be that he hurt his draft status because of his injury limiting what he could do workout-wise at the combine and Pro Day, but come on, pull up the tapes of these guys and see who impresses you most. Ginn will be the 2nd WR taken, although how could you not love going to a playoff team in the Chargers and playing with Gates and Tomlinson. Imagine him in that offense?? He would put up sick numbers.

I didn't say I bought into the workout crap, either.....but there is quite a bit of evidence that NFL GM's do occasionally buy into it. Roy Hall is hoping his numbers are impressive enough to raise his stock in the draft.Big Papa;788617; said:What makes you say that this is not a "pull up the tapes" season? I have read several articles talking about how the combine may have outlived it's usefulness, and that actual game performance is far more important. I don't buy into the workout crap. I don't believe many of the potential gm's looking to draft a burner WR that has made big plays in big games and can be the next Devin Hester return guy, the x-factor for whoever drafts him, are going to look at another guy who ran a 4.4 at the combine and made some catches at his Pro Day, but had a college career that was not even close to the one Teddy had and say "this is the guy". Teddy is a guy who can make an immediate impact, not something the other WR's other than CJ can do. I do agree with you on one thing, that it would be nicer to see him with a better team, but I still want to see him get the respect he deserves and get drafted in the first 15 picks.

My point wasn't that Teddy isn't as good as those other receivers because he didn't work out and they did, it was that for all the analysts who are spending their weeks evaluating these receivers Teddy isn't doing anything. It's Pro-Day season, so that is the basis for changes in their draft predictions.
This crap is the same every year....they'll remember what kind of game changer Teddy is before the draft.....don't expect so much out of the "experts"- they're usually full of shit.
