St. Ignatius’ Chuck Kyle, Glenville’s Ted Ginn Jr. part of second National H.S. Football Hall of Fame class

A year following his retirement at St. Ignatius, Chuck Kyle is headed to the National High School Football Hall of Fame.

Kyle and former Glenville star Ted Ginn Jr. lead the second class for that Hall of Fame in Canton, announced Wednesday by that organization and its founder, LaMont Robinson.

That will happen June 8 in Canton at the Pro Football Hall of Fame, where the High School Hall of Fame also is located. Kyle and Ginn are two of 29 inductees into this year’s class, which follows the inaugural 2023 class that included Glenville coach Ted Ginn Sr.

Ted Ginn Jr. starred at Glenville in the early 2000s before moving on to Ohio State with teammate and quarterback Troy Smith. Ginn’s electric speed earned him state and national track championships in addition to elevating the Tarblooders on the football field. After a pro career in the NFL for 14 seasons, he has returned to Cleveland and helps his father with the Ginn Elite youth teams.
