WR/RB Lamaar "Flash" Thomas (transfer to New Mexico)

Scout $

Highlights and short interview. Lamaar says he is still undecided about playing RB or WR.

It's possible that we could lose Lamaar because of this, but I'm always thankful that this staff is honest about this stuff. These kids deserve that much. That said, we could really use ya Lamaar, so I'm hoping you keep an open mind on this!!

I would rather lose Lamaar to a school that promises him RB, than he pick tOSU based solely on hopes of playing RB, only to be disappointed. I'm not sure if that sentence can stand alone.

If Lamaar feels that he is a RB and that no other position can be considered, then that's something that he feels, and can't change. At least I've never been able to change my actual feelings. Ohio State does not seem to be a place that Lamaar can sign with and expect to see reps specifically at RB. There does seem to be 2 teams that can give him this opportunity. 2 teams that stand in his final 3, and that are both battling the Buckeyes for his very desirable services. The Illini and the Terps. In layman's terms, Illinois and Maryland. Now if I didn't wear scarlet glasses, I probably wouldn't have joined this website community.

If Lamaar feels that he is capable of contributing as a freshman to a college football team that consistently battles for conference titles, midwestern bragging rights, national title hopes, and all-around greatness, all the while pumping out 1st round draft picks at just about every position you can think of straight into the National Football League, without pigeon-holing himself to one position, then I think the previously-mentioned Illini and Terps fall a lap or three behind. I'd say the worst position for the Buckeyes pipeline to the pro's would have to be quarterback, which is ironic as we passed the torch to another Heisman winner last season.

I'm sure Lamaar has been notified of the DeVoe Torrence situation. If he comes in as a WR, I would bet every last dollar that he is not forced to stay there. Get them on campus and fill your needs.

Come on Lamaar! The best possible situation for your future is absolutely screaming at you to join the Buckeye Nation! You will be used in a way which best suits your talents, and that's not just at OSU! I promise it's not just us! Once Zook or the Fridge gets your signature, are you a RB anymore?

unless it'd be a lie, don't you think he could be recruited as a "Shot-Ginn" player...give him exposure as a "special" back and receiver

Seems like that'd be a pretty cool recruiting tool to have as a staff and excciting for a player to be known as the "Ginn-back" recruit

so that would probably mean he didn't commit on the visit?
Actually, as the time of your post (Sunday, 10:49 am), Lamaar is probably still on his visit. Expect some news (good, bad, indifferent) later in the day.

In the mean time, you might want to check out the rest of the site.
