:oh:

And he's not already? I'd say his TD catch against NW, his great reverse against Minny, his being the #3 WR, and his being the main punt/kickoff returner now qualifies him as both.

Of course I agree with this . However I think we have only begun to see what he can do. I think he can be 50 -75 % better tan he is now, or more, and that is what I was alluding to. When he is able to get in double the plays he does now, then watch out.

Purdue's Dorien Bryant braces for a hit from Ohio State's Austin Spitler while returning a kickoff return.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Ohio State jumped to a 17-0 halftime lead last night on the way to a 23-7 win over Purdue, and sophomore receiver Ray Small was a big part of the leap.
He had five of his six catches in the first half. They included the first of Todd Boeckman's two touchdown passes in the first quarter, a 26-yarder at the left side of the end zone, getting his left foot in bounds.
Later, he was hit on the run on a short crossing route, which he turned into a 13-yard gain to the Purdue 8-yard line, setting up a 5-yard touchdown pass two plays later to Brian Hartline.

Ray got more touches last night and his contribution to the game went right up with them. IMO he was the leading star receiver in the game. He apparently doesn't like to fair catch the ball either. I love it!
Good Game Ray.

The addition of Small into the system gives TB more ops to find the open receivers. He( Small ) is bound to get better and better as the season goes on. I am impressed how the coaching staff can keep on coming with players in the wide receiver position for Ohio State.

Last year we were sad to see Teddy and Gonzo gone from the system but we seem to just keep on rolling along. I am not saying that this corp of receivers are the same as Teddy and Gonzo but they are very, very good. Sometimes I wonder if Ginn and Gonzales had stuck around, would our offense be better ? Who knows huh ?

I'd like to see Small with a couple more reverses and short routes. Even if the reverses are faked I wouldn't mind. Atleast give them something to think about. Anyways Great game by small! and his cut he made on that quick pass was amazing!!

Ray showed that quick step/burst when he came across the middle on that slant pattern last weekend. I agree with everyone's comments. I can't wait to see him continue to grow and become more of a focal point in the offense. KR and PR are a start. You can see a star in the making. He gets it in high geer as quick or even quicker than Teddy. I heard when he came out that he beat a lot of Teddy's sprint records @ Glenville. Any truth to that?
