I read the article about Ray on BSB (it's free & titled "The Truth About Ray Small") but it still leaves me a bit confused.
It starts, "After putting those rumors to rest while talking to BuckeyeSports.com...Small confirmed Wednesday that he will be good to go when the Buckeyes kick off their season against Northern Illinois Sept. 3rd."
Sounds promising.
"Small has already gone through orientation at OSU and has began working out with the team."
Sounds like a complete lock, end of story.
But then..."The final question mark for Small appears to be an ACT score that he is still waiting on, but he said he will be a Buckeye regardless of the score."
Huh, translation, please? ...He plans on walking on if this score isn't high enough to get him in on an athletic scholarship?...He just took it over one more time at the school's request, but it doesn't matter what the score is, he's got his scholly?...What does that mean exactly?
Finally..."It's been a lot of stress. You hear one thing and the coach is telling you another thing and you don't know what is really true. I'm trying to work as hard as I can to get there, and once I get there I'm going to work hard to do the right thing."
"The only way I can respond is, I've gotta do what I've gotta do and just show them different."
????????????????????????????????????????
