WR Julian Fleming (transfer to Ped)

I don't count that deep ball he couldnt come down with as a drop. That's a tough play. He's back pedaling, with a defender in front of him with his hands up and knowing the safety was about to blow him up if he caught it. Would have been a great play if he made it.

I have no inside knowledge whatsoever; however, it wouldn't surprise me if Julian Fleming comes back for a 5th year. He's been here 4 years, but I believe that he can get another COVID year if he wants. He was the overall #1 WR recruit and top 4 nationally of all positions coming out of high school in 2020. Early on some nagging injuries significantly slowed his progress and reduced his playing time. He's also probably envious of watching a number of Ohio State WRs going high in the draft: Chris Olave, Garrett Wilson, evens transfer Jameson Williams, Jaxon Smith-Nijgba, probably Marvin Harrison Jr, and possibly Emeka Egbuka. If he still has 1) confidence in his ability, 2) the desire to be the next Ohio State WR in line to be "the clutch go to" WR, and 3) wants a NFL career; I'll go out on a limb here; and say he'll follow his dream and return in 2024.

If Fleming tries to go pro, id bet that he’d go undrafted. He had a below average ‘22, and a bad ‘23. He didn’t even score a TD in ‘23, i dont believe a WR has ever been drafted that hasn’t even scored a regular season TD.

But tbh, as much I love his character and how he’s stayed at OSU, I wouldn’t mind him hitting the portal. He’s going to get pushed further down the depth chart when guys like Smith, Graham and McClellan show up. Tate and Rodgers would most likely pass Fleming, as he’s shown only a strength in blocking but has inconsistent hands. He dropped too many contested balls when he was supposed to be the WR with strength and moving the chains with his size. He is the epitome of the quote: looks like Tarzan plays like Jane. Let him star at a MAC level school and then earn his way to the NFL
