WR Albert Dukes (official thread)

Someone had ranked Dukes as the 24th best receiver in the country. His coach said, Well..I would like to see the other 23 guys. He thought Dukes was the best in the country. The reason he wasn't ranked higher is because rivals didn't have a video on him.

Belle Glade Pair article from last year on scout.com:
...
Much like Holmes, Dukes is a smaller receiver with big-time playmaking ability. Dukes described his game for those who haven't yet seen him. "I think I can be the total package," Dukes said with a remarkable amount of confidence. "I can block, I can catch, I am able to get a lot of yards after I catch the ball, and most importantly, I'm a team player."
...
"The fans will get to see me adjust to the cold," he said with a laugh. "That's going to be the real test."
Dukes discusses OSU decision
...
<!--Default For Ohio is to ignore--> “Ever since Albert was a sophomore, he has always said he wanted to go to Ohio State,” Sophia Dukes said.
...
“I got a call from a guy from Insiders who said they had him ranked 24th,” Coffey said. “I said, `Then, I would like to see the other 23 guys.’ I think Rivals may have had him ranked something like 11th in the country at wide receiver. Even then, I still say I’d like to see the 10 guys ahead of him. The guy from the Insiders said he was probably lower in their poll because they didn’t have tape of him and they were just going off recommendations.

“But he is also a smart kid. When he gets in there, he will pick up the system. As soon as he learns the system, that will allow his ability to take over and he can compete. Then, he can just do everything instinctively.”

Dukes is qualified with a 3.6 GPA...
Quotebook (Dukes) on scout
..."Yeah, I think I'd probably be here if he wasn't here because I had a good recruiter - <!--Default NodeId For Mark Snyder is 1192475,2004-->Mark Snyder - and I was checking this school out ever since they started recruiting me," Dukes said. "They came down to Glades Central to see Santonio, and ever since I've been real interested. I'm just glad to be here."
...
Dukes will wear the No. 5 for the Buckeyes. "Well, I was aiming for No. 10 because that was my high school number, but my birthday is on the fifth, so I just took No. 5," he said.

Dukes #17 FL recruit per scout

Over on b-nuts they had some quotes from the team, and basically, they were along the lines of "Wow, he's a freak/awesome/amazing,etc...." I am so pumped that he has dealt w/ his issues, I had written him off. Whoever first said this is like getting a 5 star recruit all over again is on the money.

Fox confirmed in a recent inverview on BN what almost all of the coaches and analysts that have seen Dukes in practice... and the consensus is that Dukes might be better than Holmes once he develops.

How good is Albert Dukes doing at OSU? It sounds like he is very good. Living down here I see maybe 1 OSU game a year so I don't get a chance to watch some Fla guys. Did Dukes have a real good year? I read that he got in trouble with some 12 year old girl. He plead down which is good so he avoided something serious. Will he be suspended for that? How did he do in the spring game and how is he expected to do this year?
