Game Thread Wisconsin 13, tOSU 31 (Oct 10, 3:30 ET, ABC/ESPN)

Several Wisconsin fans complained that they were overly strict in calling holding today. I was not one of them, no excuses from me about that, the refs just certainly weren't lenient toward Wisconsin as appears to be the implication. Truth is somewhere in the middle. Traditionally, Wisconsin has gotten a lot of flack for holding from opposing fans, and usually it's just sour grapes. I mean there will be like 7 holding calls, and fans would still complain just because they couldn't wrap their head around how they were mauled by bulbous milk fed young men.

Me. Today. Not sour grapes. There was one play I thought was a screen...untill I saw three D-lineman getting held from behind. No call. I'll try to get a shot from the game later.

Edit: I'll also add that I suspect a lack of holding calls the rest of the way. The refs won't call it every time, and I don't think opposing O lines will have much choice.

If OSU doesn't get the 3 non-offensive TDs and Wisconsin can make them play honestly, the game very well may be different.

Favorite quote from the above thread.... Captain Obvious to the rescue! LOL

The only difference between tOSU and Bama at this point might be a guy like Ingram. But, we have Pryor. Both teams are really strong on D and rely on a powerful running game. With Boom out again with an injury, I'm all for giving more pt for Hall and Berry. Saine is a good back but sometimes we need a boost back there. Very good win for the Bucks overall.
I'm starting to wonder if that's really an asset. A win is a win is a win but he hasn't been too impressive (consistently) in any game this year. He's till a work in progress.

Wisconsin "holding" game? That's pretty classy. Take a shot at most of Wisconsin's success the last 15+ years, as if the win shouldn't be enough. If Wisconsin has used TOP to their advantage to control ballgames in the past, it's because they've had large offensive lineman and corresponding RB's.

"L"

And that's all I have to say.

Well, this isn't the NFL, we can't trade him for Cal's backup QB and a recruit to be named later. Gotta root for what you have.

A Mickey Mantle rookie card wasn't worth jack [censored] at one point either.
He's been the started now for almost a year and a half. These types of performances have been going on too long to keep giving him a free pass. I like Pryor and I still think he might have the potential to be great, but it's about time we see some production out of him. 190 yards of total offense just won't cut it 95% of the time.

The question is not just the progress level, but the potential. If you turn an average athlete into a good qb, you have a good qb. If you turn the most athletic qb in the nation into a good qb, you have a killer qb who wins you a NC.

This is just the ugly duckling phase.

TP looked much better in 2/3 of his games last year as a true frosh. For the potential to matter, there has to be some improvement. I am officially getting worried (haven't panicked yet though).

A lot of Badger fans say they weren't impressed today. Well, that's what the flu does to your offense!
And, Oh! Yes! There were those 6 sacks and multiple knock downs! Your great offensive line got it's ass kicked, Wiscy!

JSV reporting here for my BP brethren. Just got back from the game.

I feel really bad for TP and the offense. They must really hurt having only thrown one TD (which was offset by a Wisconsin TD off a Pryor interception), and failing to make long drives and first downs.

The time of possession was really lop-sided, and it is a tribute to our tremendous defense how they dominated Wisconsin and returned two interceptions for TDs.
