Why I Hate Notre Dame Even More Than Before....

Dude, step back, take a chill pill, and relax a bit.

OSU gets just as much free pub as anyone out there so take the scarlet-colored shades off for a bit.

What are you talking about....they arn't scarlet glasses anymore...thanks to nike we have black in the jersey dammit!!!!!!!! So now the glasses are black shaded...ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

As for the whole thing. Quinn was a bigger story thus why he got more pub. Russell being number one is not as big of a story as Quinn's fall. Day two was more focused on Smith and what gems can be grabbed in lower spots. They talked about Quinn, but they ran stories on Russell, Smith, and a ton of other players.

And I think the fact that OSU moved up to having to most players drafted in the first round in the history of the draft would be a bigger influence than the fact that BQ was on the cover of a internet page for a few hours.

Two pictures from the draft in yesterday's Chicago Tribune. One on the front of the sports section and one inside amongst the draft coverage. Guess which one was Brady Quinn?

Haaa, trick question! They both were of Brady Quinn.

Troy is not faultless in his plummeting draft stock and NFL marketability.
a) When was the last OT that was a marketing boom?
b) Who is more likely to flop, Russell in Oakland or Quinn in Cleveland?
c) Who will make a company the most money out of those three?

Quinn is the obvious choice from a marketing standpoint. Even if his NFL career plummets quickly, they still get a good 6 months of top marketing out of Quinn. Asking them to use the other two is not a smart business decision.
1) Most thought Russell would be the first pick.
2) Was Cal's marketing the reason Rodgers was a potential #1 pick, when in reality he slid like Quinn?
Ohio State capitalizes on this fickle nature of HS students as well.

All excellent points Jwins, and if Stetson can make money off of people who want to smell like Brady Quinn (take that any way you care to), so be it. But I don't think that's what I've been arguning with Thump. It's the mentality that I'm speaking about and against.

The thread is about why we dislike Notre Dame and that's what I'm trying to point out. If the story had been about how far Brady fell after being considered #1 by many I might have bought it. It wasn't. Instead of a story about the draft, we got yet another story about Notre Dame football.

you misunderstood my . seriously, i like commas.

As I consider that, I must say, I myself enjoy a comma on occasion, however, on a personal note, one must also realize, at least from my point of view, that they can become ridiculously over-used when employed properly.

Run-on...I think not.

Bastards.
