I am just merely pointing out that we have two guys that can be a force in the paint, not neccesairly both of them having huge numbers in points, but moreso in defending these guys and not getting kicked around on the boards...

As for Brewer I think that guys like Cook, Lewis, Lighty, Harris can slow him down, but Brewer doesnt always assert himself and can get lost in the game. He is a huge force on defense with his long arms and quickness

The guy that really killed us was Green, but I am of the opinion that we would be able to defend him better than the first time...He was 9-12 from the floor...

Florida also shot 60% from the floor and 50% from 3, just not that probable to happen again against us, and if it does we will wiped off the floor just like the first time...
I actually think that Matta left Greg in so that he could get himself into better playing shape.
My thoughts about noah were meant to show how adversely his play could affect us. As far as they rest go it depends on how well we play defense. That is how they shot s o well against us, poor D.
Now we have Greg and he is in lots better shape and will be able to control play in and around his position. Asssuming the guards as even that would leave the game up to the forwards or , Noah against Hunter and Twigs.
And there lies the tale of the game IMO

Oden, a disappointment?

Please explain.
I guess maybe I was expecting too much. I had only seen him play a couple times on TV when he was in high school. I think maybe the invite to the pre-Olympic trial practice really threw me off. I will admit that it has been extremely difficult to be playing with only one strong hand on offense. I guess the bigger question is will his right hand get much better by the time the tournament comes around.

I realize he is not getting the benefits of any calls by officials but I guess I just thought he would be further along offensively by now. I guess that I was thinking his right hand would be much stronger by now. I was also referring to our chances in the NCAA. If he does not become more dominant offensively, I do not think we will go very deep in the tournament.

It also could be the fact that he is nice getting as many touches as he should be getting. If you look around the country, you will see that most centers his size are scoring around 20 ppg.

I really think that you were expecting too much like a dominant Shaq type guy...

He is dominating on the defensive end where his most impact is, but he is averaging 15 pts/game and you have to factor in that there are some pretty good scorers around him...We have 7 guys averaging 7 or more pts per gaame...

Also if you look around the country you have guys similar in size and play to him like Gray(Pitt) = 15 pts/game and Hibbert(GTown) = 13 pt/game. These guys have been in college for 2.5 full seasons and you are looking at Oden who is just working on a half a season after spending all summer just playing ball with his left hand and he still doesnt have full motion of his right wrist...

I could give you Hansbrough, but he gets 3 more shots/game than Oden and his team plays a more uptempo game than us and he his going to get more shot attempts due to the quicker pace...

I totally agree.

I guess maybe I should look at some stats before I open my pie hole again but I have said that may be I was expecting too much of him. The word ?disappointment? was a bad choice of words on my part. I love the kid! I just want to win a Bball championship badly and without him at full strength our chances are not very good.

Well when the brackets are made, then we can all decide on who will be in the final four because Ohio State and we'll say Wisky could be in the same region.
But until then.....these are my final four

Ohio State
North Carolina
Wisconsin
Florida

Final Two- Ohio State/Florida

The thing is that with the way Oden has been playing I think that he could lead us to a championship minus the foul trouble of course...

If he gets 15 pts 10 rbs and about 4 blocks that is a great stat line. NOt to say all the shots that he is altering or effecting the team to not even come inside.

I think it is going to come down to other guys like Butler, Lewis, Conley, Cook, Harris, Hunter to give production moreso than Oden to lead us to the championship and I don't think it is out of he question for Oden to put up 20, 15, 5 in the tourney...

I HOPE NOT! My heart couldn't stand losing 2 NCs in 3 months to the same school!!! (not saying we'd lose, but it is a definite possibility)

I want them for that exact reason.

But yeah, if they won again, that would be some serious pwn4ge.
If that happened again, living in Florida, I do not know what I would do. I am already getting that pissed off/disbelief I had after the BCS game just thinking about it.
