So why is no one talking about how you think we would matchup with these teams, that was the whole point of excluding us...:tongue2:

RIB really going out on a limb with that Providence pick, even after they showed quite a few weaknesses in that Pitt game yesterday...Curious as to reasoning...

Mostly homerism but I think we have a good shot to make a serious run in the tourney.

Florida, UNC, Wisc. Arizona

A lot would depend on which region teams drew.

Florida would be a hard match up for us again, mainly because Noah is better than our forwards and because brewer is so hard to defend. We would have to play a great all around game to win.

UNC. can be beaten , we can and porbably will beat them in a rematch. Basically ,I feel , because I think Oden would outplay Harangoddy(?) and because we will match up better in the other four posits.

I know Wisc is a sleeper but it will take a very good team to beat them. They are so sound on both sides of the ball. Having said that, I think we beat them because Oden wins it for us.

I picked Arizona because they are starting to play great ball IMO. A Lute
Olsen team that plays great late is one to watch out for.
This would be a fairly hard match up for us because of their athleticsim.

This is extremely hard to dowithout seeing the brackets first. I will say that I think Florida and UNC will be two of the four but have no idea who will round out the Final Four. Maybe Wisconsin, Texas A&M, or Kansas. I really have no idea.

I had much higher hopes for the Buckeyes when the season began but for some reason, I can't put my finger on it, they have not looked very good in the past couple games. I hope that I am wrong but if they make it to the Elite 8 I will be very surprised but happy.

I think Oden has been a disappointment to me on offense and that is one of the reasons why I do not see us going very deep into the tournament.

Oden, a disappointment?

Please explain.

Agree, but the emergence of Hunter would help defend Horford and Noah, remember Hunter hardly played and Oden was dead ass tired that game, we came back early in the second half only to get our asses kicked after that...

Think you mean Hansbrough, Harangody plays for Notre Dame...Either way this would be a great matchup.

I agree, and they have great leadership...

They are a sleeper pick, but just not sure they have the horses to get to the final four, but they are a scary team to see in the tourney, especially if Budinger could play at a high level like he did yesterday...

As for Oden disapointing, I am not sure what you were expecting, but no one ever said he had a great post game but I think that overall he has been pretty impressive for only playing with one hand, missing 6 months of playing no basketball and having guys hanging on him. There is no questioning what he brings on the defensive end of the court...

Yes I meant Hansborough.
Fwiw I think Noah is better than Hunter and/or Twigs. I would have to see a lot more improvement in Hunter. Don't get me wrong I think He and Twigs are doing a great job consistant with their abilities. Noah just happens to show me more right now.
So the big questions are " can Hunter improve enough to be in the same league as Noah, and Do we have someone who can defend brewer?

I am not saying that Hunter is as good as Twig, I mean Noah is a guy that was talked about as the number one pick in the draft last year if he left and has only gotten better. He is a for sure top 5 NBA pick this year as well.

If you go back and look at the game against them, Hunter didnt only played 16 minutes and didnt score at all..Oden was just coming back and played too many minutes, but there were times when he couldnt even get up and down the court b/c he was so out of shape at that time, he only had 7 pts and 6 boards and also was in foul trouble due to fatigue have 4 fouls...

I am just merely pointing out that we have two guys that can be a force in the paint, not neccesairly both of them having huge numbers in points, but moreso in defending these guys and not getting kicked around on the boards...

As for Brewer I think that guys like Cook, Lewis, Lighty, Harris can slow him down, but Brewer doesnt always assert himself and can get lost in the game. He is a huge force on defense with his long arms and quickness

The guy that really killed us was Green, but I am of the opinion that we would be able to defend him better than the first time...He was 9-12 from the floor...

Florida also shot 60% from the floor and 50% from 3, just not that probable to happen again against us, and if it does we will wiped off the floor just like the first time...

Last night's game against Kentucky showed that if you get physical and don't allow Noah to have space, he can be frustrated to the point of taking a shot at a cheerleader and gets into foul trouble.

The fact he's a flopper is becoming well known I think.

He won't match up against Oden too much, but Hunter and Noah are about even IMO. One get all the attention while the other plays in Oden's shadow.

Let's not forget that Hunter's emergence in Big Ten play has helped the Buckeyes immeasurably.
