Let's all face it......a win against OSU this year will be ALL team's 'signature' win. With the pre-season hype of OSU and the 'little ten', this has probably been bulletin board material all around the league. So, we're going to get EVERYONE's best shot. I seem to remember
Wisconsin beating OSU in 2003 for the first loss after the Nat Chmpship against Miami. Even Mushmouth (Brent Musberger) said he could feel the electricity in the air before the game, so 'on any given Saturday', etc. any team can beat another one.
So Tress & Co better get their team prepared to take the other team's best shot on a weekly basis (the price of being on top of the mountain).
Knowing that
Curtis Painter could catch fire, or
Bacher, or even Threet, is a big red flag. Right now Penn St looks to have the eyes of the media, and their stats look pretty awesome, even if their athletes don't. Michigan is struggling, but everyone out of short pants knows that no matter how badly one of the two (either Michigan or OSU) is doing that year, that team plays up to the level of the other one. (Mostly Michigan has played over their heads and upset the higher ranked OSU - too many times). Dick Rod and the Wolverweenies are undoubtedly pointing to this game for many reasons (justification of hiring Dick Rod, losing Pryor to their arch enemy, just because we're on top and they're not) will play well.
Of course I fear scUM the most, but Penn St is a clooooose second. They have it together, and would wish to avenge an 'Ohfer' the Shoe. But the best team OSU's ever had (simply my opinion) was the 199
8 team, and Michigan State whupped us. So it shows that anyone in the Big Ten can beat OSU......with great athletes or not.
