What would classify this tournament as a success?

What would classify our run in The Dance as a success?

Championships equal success. We were successful in the regular season and in the Big Ten Tournament. You can't lose and call it successful, regardless of perception or expectation.

The season is already a success, but come tournament time, you have to come out with a championship.

because of our draw, i say the F4. no one in our bracket should be able to match up with us and win. our road get interesting when we meet UNC/GT. once you get to that game, its a crapshoot

IF Oden gets in foul trouble, we're beatable by many teams in our bracket.

I think they gotta atleast get to the final four to be a "success". I mean they're the #1 seed, and the #1 ranked team in the country, so they should be able to get out of their region if they play well. After that point, it becomes a different game.

This is my feeling as well...

We will be able to look back on this season and say it was a success no matter what, But when you have a team capable of a championship you always feel a little uneasy feeling after the season knowing that...

Yeah but I think this is the difference between college football and college basketball. In football a great season usually isn't eclipsed by a post season loss. This year's team is a great example where we had a great season, won the big 10, and beat Michigan. Even though we lost bad to Florida it was still a great season.

Basketball is a different animal where the season matters to a lesser degree. It is great to win your conference and beat your rivals but one of the most important things is making it to the dance. For example, Flordia didn't win the SEC regular season title last year but no one remembers that. What we do remember is their run in the big dance. So I think we should expect a good showing in the tournament.

IMO, final four would be a success. Anything below that (while it may keep some of our players around for another year) would be a dissapointment.

Final Four would be like winning a BCS Bowl game.

Elite 8 is like losing a big Bowl game after beating scUM

Anything short of Elite 8 is like pulling a Coop (scUM and Bowl loss).
