i think osu has a great season and beats miami. however, they seem in the last couple of years to lose to a team that they shouldn't lose to and i think that they lose one game in the regular season in conference. i think they can make it to the national championship but don't kn ow if they can win it all. i think they will be the team to beat next year however and will win it all then.

All due respect, but you should check your facts before posting. Last year's loss to Purdue was the first time we lost to a non BCS team since 2004. We don't lose those games, last year was an abberation. You must have us confused with USC.

That's not to say that we can't, just that we normally don't, something Buckeye fans are well aware of. We have our hands full this year for sure, but that's what makes a team MNC worthy, and I have full confidence that we'll rise to the challenge.

no offense taken, but i was referring to the loss to illinois in 2007. if wvu doesn't choke, it costs osu a trip to the national championship.

Quite a few teams had to choke to allow the Buckeyes to back into the game in New Orleans, not just Bitch Rod's 'eers.

The loss to USC earlier in the year also ended up being a non-BCS team.

Not exactly. If WVU had beaten Pitt, tOSU and WVU would have been the title game.

i forgot about that. the point was though that osu shouldn't have been in that position to begin with because they should have never lost to illinois. they look them too lightly just like purdue last year.

That Illinois team went to the Rose Bowl btw. Forgot about the USC thing, but still, 6 years between that type of a loss (despite two last year) does not a trend make.
i realize that illinois team had a pretty good season but they only made it to the rose bowl because osu (deservingly) made it to the national championship. they got steamrolled by usc though and haven't been .500 since. i guess the trend part was off by my part, but i still worry that osu might lose to a team that we all know they're better than. hopefully the memory of last year's loss to purdue will motivate them against teams that are around .500 this year.

What is sobering is that the last time I checked, several months ago, Las Vegas said the odds of the Buckeyes winning a NC this year were something like 1 in 4. THat is basically the same thing as saying the odds of OSU beating Iowa are 50/50 and the odds of OSU winning the title game are 50/50.

Having said all that, put me down for "OSU runs the table" and beats Boise State in the title game, causing the critics to go berzerk.

Ohio State's 2011 schedule:

Akron (Sept. 3)
Toledo (Sept. 10)
at Miami (Fla.) (Sept. 17)
Colorado (Sept. 24)
Michigan State (Oct. 1)
at Nebraska (Oct. 8)
at Illinois (Oct. 15)
Open Date (Oct. 22)
Wisconsin (Oct. 29)
Indiana (Nov. 5)
at Purdue (Nov. 12)
Penn State (Nov. 19)
at Michigan (Nov. 26)

Two MAC patsies, then ten straight games against BCS conference teams. On the road at Miami, Nebraska, and Michigan. Just more evidence that 2010 is the year that the stars are aligned in the Buckeyes' favor. They have a great chance for the NC this season, and they must take advantage of it. And in eleven hours, it all begins....

I was just going back watching clips of a few games from the '02/'03 season and noticed how amped up Brent Musburger was calling our games. For me, it made them even more special than they already were. I can't help but wish we had that this year. Announcers are so horrible these days. Unintelligible to boot.

There goes Jermale Hall again!

Cringe.
