2nd Chance by James Patterson (Women's Murder Solving Club set in San Fran)

Grant Comes East by Newt Gingrich & Wm. Forstchen (hypothetical view if Lee and the South had won at Gettysburg)

Brimstone by Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child-Murder mystery involving the victims burning up from the inside of their bodies)

100 People who are Screwing Up America by Bernard Goldberg ( I think the title explains this one)

"The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time" by Mark Haddon - excellent read. It isn't often that a book gives you new ways to look at the world. I wonder how much of the main character's thought processes come from the author's experience with autistic children as opposed to his own imagination...

"Sarah Canary" by Karen Jo Fowler - somewhat of a disappointment. I just didn't find the writing compelling, but I do think it would be a good book to pull apart in a book club... the discussion it could generate would likely be more interesting than the book itself.

"How to Think Like a CEO" by D.A. Benton - pretty good discussion. I'm not a big fan of business/motivational books, but at the right moment they can be thought-provoking.

Conspiracy of Fools : A True Story by Kurt Eichenwald

It's a book on the rise and fall of Enron.

I read that about a year ago and thought it was great. Really gives you great insight on how everything went (up and) down.

I just watched "Capote" the other night, so I had to start reading "In Cold Blood." Amazing book so far.

One of my favorite true-crime books.

I'm reading "Helter Skelter" by Vince Bugliosi right now.

Just finished Angels and Demons - enjoyable and interesting, but if you've read one Dan Brown, you've read them all. :ohwell:
Also recently finished Cold Service, one of the Spenser books by Robert Parker. Blah. Not really my thing.

Still Life with Woodpeckers is mocking me from my nightstand right now. :smash: Go to hell, Tom Robbins!
