Now that I've had more time to play AC2, it really is a great game.

After an hour of gameplay, it seemed like a more polished version of the old game, but they really made this game it's own with some of the same structure & style of the old one.

I'm eager to see what they do with the next installment. The money/ownership angle is an interesting one and couple open up a lot of avenues. The ability to buy/plant your own guards or political figures could be an interesting twist.

Being a poor white boy from cow-town... I waited for the release of the 2nd AC to pick up the first. I like it so far but some of it is tedious and seems like not much is happening. Hopefully it will pick up a bit more. I probably played 2-3 hours in so far.

Just finished AC2, really enjoyed it. A lot better game than the original, much less tedious. The wow factor from the first one isn't there (leaping off buildings, platforming at high speeds, etc) since you've done it before, but the diversity of the missions and interactions is a big upgrade.

The backstory was mildly intriguing- albeit in the context of 'made to sell to mainstream america' - but the ending left a lot to be desired (with how they resolved the mystery).

That's what $20/month rental plans are for my friend... rent all the games and movies you want for a month or two, and then cancel it for 3-6 months until better games line the shelves. The only game I buy most years is NCAA Football.

Damn... you finished it already? Really... You just play video games every day? :wink2: I want that job

I'm about 2 hours in on AC2 and so far really enjoy it. AC got REAL tedious to the point that I couldn't finish it. But loved the style and everything. At least so far with AC2 you can see the diversity of the missions. Throw in the money/economy and it seems like a winner to me!

I have made it thru some of the tedious points by going into the villages in between the hub and the objective points on horseback, running over guards, then hopping off the horse and finishing them off. Once the towns guards are gone, no one cares and your threat level goes down. I enjoy it at least.

I dusted off my Madden game yesterday, after not having played it since August. I downloaded the latest roster and played as Miami against the Jets. It was my first time trying the wildcat offense and I was tremendously impressed with how well it was incorporated into the game.

I am extremely hopeful that NCAA will use the Madden engine next year. It is such a well done game.

Other than that I've been playing Fallout 3 GOTY quite a bit lately. I just recently found Dogmeat and completed the minefield quest. I am a big fan of Oblivion, and I really enjoy this game as well. I love the VATS system, and I like how specific body parts can be targeted. Very cool.

Really enjoyed Borderlands, but as soon as MW2 came out, I put it down, will go back to play the download content coming out today though.

I liked the first L4D, really on the fence about picking up the new one, anyone have any feedback on it?

I enjoyed Borderlands. Only had a little while to play it, but the graphics and guns are a lot of fun.
I saw that Gamestop is selling it tomorrow for $40, so I might have to get it at that much of a discount.
Do you guys keep all of the games you buy? Trade them in for $5-15 buck?

I keep all of my games, because they're usually worth keeping, and you get very little for trading them in.

If you do trade them in, don't do it at Gamestop. When I traded in Rock Band (since I could transfer all the songs over to Rock Band 2) Blockbuster gave me $33 for it. So definitely go there over Gamestop. The same applies for pre-orders, too. Hundreds went to Gamestop for MW2's release, and I went to Blockbuster with about 5 other people and got it before all of them.

BTW, I just saw that Best Buy has L4D2 for $35.

Finished Dragon Age Origins, good story, interesting game play with lots of options for how you want to play, annoying targeting and crappy loot, but overall, a lot of fun. I did learn that two rangers, a tank and a healer pretty much dominate the game though :p

Took a break from Borderlands. Love the graphics, guns and style of play. It was a little tedious at first, but picked up a lot in the next towns with vehicles and more diverse enemies. Might revisit it down the road, made it to level 23.

Exchanged it for Halo ODST. If you don't have to justify $60 down the drain (the beauty of renting for a few days), it's a great addition to the Halo lineup. The original Halo has never been topped, and the double wielding & crazy technology has the sizzle but didn't have the meat of the original. Case in point, the greatness of the pistol was lost in the sequels, and it's back in this version.

The lighting & nightvision/HUD visual effects really add to the gameplay, as well as the richer terrain (high grass, dimly lit hallways even with night vision, etc).

It does get a bit tedious running around the empty city at times, though I'm guessing that changes when you bump up the difficulty (I'm at normal. haven't been in the high levels since the original).
