Stranger things have happened. But, much less important than who else loses to make room at the top, is the question of whether this team can find itself and go on to win. I don't personally ever want to see them in an NC game where they do not prevail. Just can't find the glory in that.

The odds are slim enough that I am really not even thinking about it.... But I don't think anybody would want to face this team in the playoffs if we came out and hammered meat chicken and somehow found our way into the final four.

Well even if we got in.. would any of us with our offense the way it is really want to play a pissed off Alabama? We are the one team in college football that they absolutely want to play due to what we did to them last year.

No interest in making it in either if it means getting destroyed the first round ala Free shoes.

If everything broke right I'd certainly not be upset if we backed into the playoffs. Just wouldn't have much hope for us is all

To be fair people were essentially thinking the same thing up to and B1G CG last year.

OSU offense did not impress between Sparty and Wisconsin in '14. Hell, there was some moron a few rows back of me at The Game last year yelling "nice play call" kind of shit after damn near every play.

In hindsight 2014 seems like we just steam rolled the piss out of everyone and was a walk in the park. Reality at the time was much like it is right now. People, including a lot of OSU fans (I include myself here), were skeptical to some degree or another.

Before the B1G CG I didn't think there was any way we were making the playoffs. Afterwards I had some hope, but even then I was skeptical an offense on their 3rd QB could hold up against someone like Alabama. I remember hearing the "We want 'Bama" chants at the B1G CG and thinking "man...let's be careful what we wish for."

Iowa has to stay undefeated, if they lose to Nebraska we have zero chance.

That being said I have very little confidence in Penn State beating Michigan State

But if somehow it all falls into place, we beat scUM, Penn State somehow beats Sparty and then we beat an undefeated Iowa in the Big 10 title game, it is a realistic possibility.

I don't know about that. If MSU wins and Iowa loses, MSU is in and we move up to 7th at worst. TCU wins and we're at 6th. ND gets whipped by Stanford and we're 5th.

After we smash michigan on Saturday we'll be the best 1 loss teams with Oklahoma, Alabama and MSU. Clemson is probably going to be undefeated but you just never really know when that upset bug is going to bite them as well - it's bitten everyone else! Oklahoma State has a legitimate shot in Bedlam this week. Don't count out an upset vs Bama either (God would that make me a very happy person!!)

First things first, beat michigan by at least 2 scores. Very well could see 2 BiG schools in the final 4 this season which would make heads explode and I'd love it.

The 3 things that have to happen at minimum are: OSU smash michigan. TCU beats Baylor. Stanford beats ND. The rest leaves the door open to judgement and we might just jump MSU or Iowa after the BigCG.

God dammit do I want this to happen... I would kill to play MSU again in the playoffs. Revenge is something we don't fuck around with

I don't think this is true at all.

If we beat scUm and Sparty wins the B1G East then beats Iowa in B1G CG that would take Iowa out of the way for us for an at large.

Its interesting because you can see a scenario where either outcome for Iowa and Corn could help or hurt OSU so I'm not going to get hung up on that one.

First order of business (chronologically) is that TCU has to take out Baylor but even that can be a non event if OSU and PSU both win on Saturday.

I'm not a proponent of teams getting playoff bids when they don't even reach their CCG. That said, I wouldn't turn a bid down if we got one that way.

First things first: BEAT MICHIGAN!
