Vince Young (unemployed)

If he plays another game it'd be like John Elway playing another game after winning the Super Bowl... it'd be pointless. He needs to go pro, his stock has NEVER been higher and there's no way it can get any higher than it is now playing another season at UT.

There is just so much more opportunity for a running quarterback to pick up a knee injury or whatever. That performance? He would be very foolish to stay, precisely because we are going to beat them next year, with or without him, and they won't be in the national championship game.

Agreed with you on all points. We will beat UT next year... Young will have another fantastic year, but not NC year. :) It's best for him to go on top. IMO the point of college ball for athletes like V.Young is to be a high draft stock. He'll never be higher after beating a team like USC in another year.

Two points that are as clear as bottled water:

  • Young will lose millions in signing bonus and salary by staying for his senior year, due to the upcoming rookie salary cap for the 2007 draft, and that fact he's already a lock to be the #1 or #2 pick in the draft.
  • If Young returns, we will lose in Austin next year. We will not outscore them at their place with our young (pardon the pun) defense.

Aw com'on. If Young does return it'll probably be an Offensive shootout like it was today with UT next year. Bucks win in Austin 34-31 (only because I'll be in attendance)

You're on crack. They put 23 offensive points and almost 400 yards on us in our house, at night, against one of our best defenses in years. They will light us up for 40+ if Young comes back, because we will have but 2-4 returning starters on defense. We may be able to put about 35-38 on them offensively, but it won't be enough. If Young goes pro, we'll win...if not, we'll lose.

You're certainly putting a lot of faith on ONE player. So do you think UT goes undefeated, stomping everyone along the way if Vince Young returns?

... just like that Gateorade commerical. If everything happens the way it's supposed to, then why play the game?

Vince Young:

Passing: 30-40 267 yds.
Rushing: 19 att. 200 yds. 3 TDs

Normally, no, I wouldn't put faith all in one guy, but come on here. These numbers are not human in a Nat'l Championship game...

They have their entire backfield and WR corps back, and are deep on the OL. Our defense will be ripe for the picking. Don't get me wrong, our defense will be shit-hot by the end of the season...but in the second game of the year, on the road against one of the biggest offensive juggernauts in years and the defending national champions, we're in deep shit.

Well USC wasn't exactly a stout defense, either. tOSU kept Young under 100 yards rushing and no TDs. Ofcourse like Mililani said, that might be dam near impossible to do next season with a young defense.

... so Miliani are you proclaiming UT the 2007 NC next year if Young returns, if not who will stop him/UT?
