Vince Young (unemployed)

Good article on ESPN.com about Vince coming back. Sounds like Vince and his peeps think the NFL favor Leinart over him. They're looking at the investment that teams with top 5 picks have made recently in QBs and only the Saints are believed to be drafting a QB. They have a good point. After the first QB is picked, how far is it going to be before the next one is chosen.

Yeha.. but someone else could go get him... Also... while the Jets do have a big investment... I'd have to imagine they'd at least think about it at 4.

Nevada just posted that Young is 100% gone, the agent has already been selected. I was aware that VY's family attny was interviewing potential agents already.

Sounds like this is a forgone conclusion.

That's good to hear, Folanator, because I agree with Mili, we will be in over our heads if he's back next year, due to the game being so early in the season. We would have to somehow outscore them in a shootout to win in Austin. With him gone, you only have to plan defensively for "normal" stuff, like 3 great RBs and some big, fast, physical receivers.

As far as draft ranking goes - even if he waits until next year, the pros are probably going to have Quinn ranked higher anyway, since he's more a prototypical pro QB. So why not come out now?

Would love to see the Bucks play Vince in Austin; when you saddle up & accept the challenge to play the best you at least have a measure of what is needed to be the best. Odds on, Texas/Vince would win but the funny-shaped ball bounces funny some days!
Although Vince is gone!

Good running diary by the Sports Guy over on Espn.com.

He starts out by saying VY can't make in the NFL when his throwing motion looks like he's trying to fling dog poop off his hand.

Then he says that there's no way a team wouldn't take VY over a Charlie Frye or JP Losman.

Then he puts him ahead of every other mediocre QB in the NFL.

And he finishes by stating that there's only three QBs he would take over VY right now - Carson Palmer, Tom Brady, and Peyton Manning.

That pretty much sums up the impression Vince Young made on me throughout the night.

Link?

In the interest of beating UT next year I'd like to see him stay to make it sweeter, but in the best interest of himeslf he should go.

I agree VY is 100% gone. Hed be crazy to come back. Would be a terrible financial decision.

Just as bad a decision is the OSU fans here who WANT him to come back. I just dont see us winning in Austin with him there. Your talking about facing perhaps the most elusive running QB in memory against a defense with SEVEN new starters at DB and LB. I for one dont relish the prospect of tackling VY in the open field with three raw LBs.

Just a shame for Bush to see how after this one game, people are calling for Young to be the #1 pick.

I guess we should totally disregard the player that many have been calling the best RB of all-time b/c his 275 total yards were trumped a freaky 467 yard performance. :roll1:

Career Rushing Stats:

R. Bush: 433 carries, 3169 yards, 24 TD

V. Young: 438 carries, 3127 yards, 37 TD
