I don't know what Urban did to some writers and I assume most of them just want to get clicks so they reach for low-hanging fruit and a big name, but some people really hate Urban.
There are some national columnists that you already know their opinion on Urban before even reading the story.

Urban had a lot of people who hated him, especially when he was at Florida and Ohio State. The thing is, he won so much everywhere he went in college that those who hated him never had the chance to kick him while he was down. Now that they have that chance, they're unleashing years of vitriol on him.

Lambo spent 5 years with the Jags and made over 91% of his FG attempts.
In 2019 and 2020 he made 38 of 39 FG attempts (97.4%) in 20 games. That's why they paid him.
Then Urban Meyer showed up...y'all can keep making excuses for him if you want to. He was great at OSU but he's been an ass in Jacksonville.

Oh....so kicking players means he's an ass now? He's not allowed to just haul off and beat the shit out of anyone he wants to with no repercussions? What if a WR drops a pass? Didn't exactly have cussing out and kicking the kicker on my bingo card for how it'd go down, but as so many people have said already this was such a dumb move from the start. I totally get wanting to scratch the NFL itch and if there was a there there when the Cowboys ostensibly had interest, that's something you have to look long and hard at. This was just a clear pass...horrible decision-making but I guess none of us are surprised by that at this point.
