I'm with you, I want to see Urban succeed. But the Jags absolutely have to hit a home run with their next QB pick and offseason. Their QB play and defense have both been really bad. They have just 1 win and several close losses this season, which to me indicates a coaching change is needed.

I don't think this is a great opportunity for Urban to prove himself in the pros. When you have to replace the QB, that's usually not the type of NFL coaching opportunity that leads to success. Plus, the London connection. I'm not convinced that the league really wants the team to stay in Jacksonville. I think some of the key decision-makers want to relocate the franchise to London within this decade.

If JAX gets their franchise QB in the 2021 draft, and they upgrade their talent and coaching on defense, they certainly could have a respectable season next year. But they will still be well behind Tennessee and Indianapolis and seem most likely to be competing for 3rd in their division moving forward.

From what I've been hearing/seeing Pantoni is going with him but it looks like everyone else is staying coaching wise. Of course with how fast things move this could be wrong 30min from now. Losing Pantoni would suck but as long as we keep our coaches I think tOSU will be just fine. Wouldn't shock me if Day already had a replacement ready to roll.

But why take Pantoni and not take Marotti ? I mean hopefully they all stay put, given how important they are to our program, but what role could a guy like Pantoni play in an NFL Franchise ? If you recall Urban has said many times, and I think it's pretty obvious, how having a S&C coach like Marotti can complete change the mentality of your players, which would be far more useful to an NFL franchise, especially one like Jacksonville, that outside of that AFCCCG they played a few years back, have never really displayed a winning mentality ?

I pose this question, since in the NFL you don't really have to convince guys to play for your team in the same way one does in college, and given that they all earn money, some more than others, and are, hopefully, mature enough to take care of themselves, what function do you see Pantoni perform for the Jaguars ?
