In 2010, Nebraska graduated the following Senior players:

Prince Amukamara
DeJon Gomes
Eric Hagg
Rickey Thenarse

By my count, that was 4 defensive backs. All experienced. 3 of 4 on an NFL squad right now (with one 1st rounder in Amukamara).

Went from 11th ranked total D in 2010, to 37th in 2011, and 35th in 2012.

1:John 1:8 - if we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.

Who does Southard think he think he's fooling?

Nebraska's pass defense rankings for those years:

2010: 5th
2011: 18th
2012: 4th

UNL's pass defense was even better in 2012 than in 2010 (at least yardage-wise)...

Southward faced an OSU passing attack ranked 101st in the country last year. That isn't saying much.

Braxton was also far better at home than away. The woeful 2011 osu offense made wisconsin look pretty bad defensively in columbus.

Southward is welcome to talk, especially for a premiere talent that sometimes can be a bit reserved (Braxton). please repeat that throughout the preseason and episodes of the journey. Tweet it. Write it on wristbands. Anything to poke the bear.
