University of Wisconsin football (59-0: Deal With It ... or Quit)

Oregon's great. Lived there almost 8 years.
Corvalis is alright. Nothing to steer a person to it or from it.
However, the biggest thing for non-native Oregonians is the inordinate amount of rain. You're looking at solid downpours from at least November (sometimes much earlier) through May and often into June.
It's a [Mark May]load of grey.
Grey during the fall and winter that's an interesting concept.

*said no one from the Midwest ever*

I assumed you were talking about the sky. Skies are permanently grey during the winter

It's not the same on the ground or in the sky. Seasonal Affected Depression doesn't hit people who live in the Midwest nearly as much as it does in the PNW. The sky is perpetually grey with very few intermittent breaks. When it snows (on the rare occasions), then it starts raining/drizzling again in short order.
The Midwest Winter while grey also has the clear, cold days where the sun breaks through for extended periods of time and the snow on the ground helps to reflect light directly and indirectly. It's a tremendous difference in lighting throughout the 8-9 months.

Coach Meyer:

I won't say this very often, but thanks Whisky.

Gotta see the ENTIRE quote, my friend:

“There's a perception out here,” Meyer said. “I'll tell you when I think the tide turned a little bit: when Wisconsin beat Auburn. Everybody on our team knew that. I made sure they knew that; when Michigan State came back and beat an excellent Baylor team. Maybe the Big Ten's not that bad. Maybe the Big Ten is pretty damned good. And it's certainly getting better. Because the mind is a fragile thing. All of a sudden, you get down against a team like that, that's No. 1 in recruiting every year for the past six, seven years, our guys know that. You see them on film. Great team. But we're pretty good, too.

“To go into East Lansing and beat a team that beat Baylor, to play the way we did against Wisconsin, a team that just beat Auburn, that's the psychological approach to getting 18‑, 19‑ 20‑year‑olds to believe, because if you believe … we had a reflection moment with our team and a speaker on whatever Friday, the day before the game, and he talked about how strong belief can increase your level of play.

“Bad belief or poor belief can also lower your level of play. So, there's no doubt that when we saw Wisconsin beat Auburn, that was a major, major moment for us getting ready for this game. … Our players — you should have seen their face, man, they knew. They knew.”

NOTE - I didn't bold any of the quote. That's how it came....
