Eh. He's still very, very average. He has seemed to develop a better sense of moving around in the pocket, but he remains a statue and has a long, goofy delivery. You are correct about the wide receivers - the lead guy is Alex Erickson, who is nothing special. The tight ends have struggled to get involved in the passing game this year, but they are very good blockers, especially Sam Arneson.Wisky concerns me more because of the size of both lines, the fact that Stave can actually pass and two good running backs - one outstanding. But their receivers are nothing special, unlike the Abrakadabra years.
So it's the line play and running of Wisky that has me most concerned, especially since no one confuses the current set of OSU linebackers with Hawk, Carpenter and Schlegel, or even Rolle and Shazier. But they do seem to be getting more involved each week and McMillan gives the team something to build around next year.
The sense coming into the year was that this Wisconsin offensive line wouldn't be up to snuff with past units. That looked to be the case when they really struggled with Northwestern earlier in the year, but they have been coming on strong lately, as evidenced by the evisceration of Nebraska's d-line. Unlike in year's past, there probably aren't many future NFL'ers on the line - Rob Havenstein probably has the best shot - but they're an experienced group that has played a lot of games together and can really maul you if you're not careful.
