UEFA Champions League (Official Thread)

In the other game, Schalke are in big trouble down 2-1 on the day & 3-2 on aggregate to Galatasaray, who have scored two big away goals. Schalke need at least two to get back in this. Watching the replays of the goals, Hamit Altintop scored an absolute screamer to tie it at 1-1, before Burak Yilmaz, who is now tied with Cristiano Ronaldo for the UCL lead in goals (8) added one right before the half. It should be noted that Burak Yilmaz has scored in six straight UCL games now.

I'd like to see Bonera/Yepes, and Pazzini/Robinho if they are healthy.

I think Allegri will get them squared away at the half. They can't afford to give up an early goal, or they're probably screwed, although if they get one themselves, that would turn this whole tie on it's head. Milan have shown they're not afraid to get forward & with decent numbers. Barca's defense is pretty awful & completely outsized, so if Milan can get a set piece or even get a good cross in, they might be golden.

The space that they are getting would play perfect to Pazzini's game. El Shaa and Boateng keep finding space out wide.

Great effort Abbiati.... :shake: He's putting more effort into booting the ball after he's scored on than making an attempt to save the ball.

Nothing much he could've done there. Was completely hung out to dry by his defense & a nice pass from Xavi to find Villa, who put it right where he needed to.

Milan really determined to get men forward now. They're either going to reap the reward or pay the ultimate price. Game is on a knifes edge now.

Have to at this point. El Shaa has made some really nice runs, just can't seem to get the passes in the final third down.

Agreed. They need to get one, or they're out. David Villa is off now, so Barca only has one player on the field capable of scoring in Messi.

If it's tied on aggregates is there no extra time?

Watching a match between 2 teams I dunno the names to, and they just basically gave up a goal by sending every man forward even though it was 3-3

Away goals are the tiebreaker. They needed to score again or else they'd have been knocked out anyway.
