UEFA Champions League (Official Thread)

Malaga take a 2-0 lead on the day & 2-1 lead on aggregate courtesy of the long lost Roque Santa Cruz. Porto are against it now down a man & a goal with barely much time left to go.

Likely money is Chelsea. The Blues loaned out young Lucas Piazon to Malaga and in exchange (it's rumored) have got first purchasing rights on Isco.

Hmm. I don't know if he's completely ready right now to play regularly in the EPL, but he would definitely gain a lot of valuable experience this early in his career as well. I think it would be a wise move for them to snatch him up though. Get him while he doesn't cost an absurd amount, although I'm sure City & PSG are well aware of him. They will probably drive up his price anyways.

Oh my. Arsenal get a 2nd. What a tense final few minutes this has set up to be.

Mikel Arteta. What a joke. Absolute foolishness from him at the end of this game. Just handed the game to Bayern Munich at the end.

Final eight teams are decided.

Barcelona
Bayern Munich
Borussia Dortmund
Galatasaray
Juventus
Malaga
PSG
Real Madrid

Three Spanish teams & two German sides leading the way. Totally bizarre not seeing a single English team in the final eight. Come along way from five years ago when there were three in the last four, including both in the Final.

Thanks for adding that. No idea why I forgot to put in that important piece of information. I'll be off the grid all weekend, so it will probably be the first thing I look up when I get back on Sunday. It's really anybody's game at this point if I had to guess. One of the most wide open Champions League editions I can remember.

Have you checked your Fantasy Premier League team recently ? You got boned pretty hard last weekend when most of your team wasn't even playing & Jake jumped back into first. It's been a little battle between you two for a while now. I think 513 (Not sure since everyone has changed there team names) is in third place just ahead of me & we're both nipping slowly at both of you.

Yeah he slowly caught me. But I've been trying not to make any transfers because since Ba came over to Chelsea I was allowed to have four Chelsea players on my squad. However once I made a transfer it would force me to take one off. Now I went ahead and bit the bullet and added Benteke and Rafael in order to shore up for the home stretch.

Through his past actions and statements, it's obvious that Michel Platini is against Goal-Line Technology and may even go as far as taking it out of the game, if he ever became FIFA president.

But I don't think expense is a good excuse for UEFA and the Champions League not to have Goal-Line Technology.

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/so...oal-line-technology-michel-platini/index.html

MLS teams are close to using the technology.

If UEFA really wants to tackle something, it should be racism (and accept using Goal-Line Technology).

Bayern Munich up 1-0 on Juventus within the first minute. David Alaba took an ambitious attempt from distance that was slightly deflected.
