last week with Devin Smith.

and I'm certain Boom and Saine both had big runs in 2010.

I'm talking about breaking some tackles and making some guys miss. That play last week to win the game was a wide open pass after a defensive breakdown. You're probably right about Boom and Saine but sheesh........we need some playmakers. We need a running game.

14 Tackles for Shazier

Mike Thomas getting involved/Rod Smith's first meaningful pt, nice stiff arm

Miller being Miller, i was wondering when he was gonna bust out the spin move

Doran Grant steppin up

Philly Brown with a good game

Id like to see more 5 wide downfield 1 on .

Lets get it on big ten...Shazier gonna lead the league in tackles.

I think we win more than just one more game. I agree with you though. We are a 6-6 team that has gotten very very lucky so far.

Without the tissue paper soft early season schedule, I think this team would be lucky to only be 1-3 and lets remember they were down 10-0 to Fredo as well.

we'll have all that we can handle next week but I think we get it done against Nebraska at night and then get throught the rest of the big ten schedule until Wisconsin/scUM.

9-3 or 10-2 but only because there really ins't a good football team on our schedule. The only thing saving this team from a horrendous record is the fact that this conference just isn't in a "down year" they're in a downsloping conference that doesn't have much fight right now.

Thoughts from the game.

1. Offense like has been stated is either TD or 3 and out. We need to stay on the field somehow to give the defense some rest and to push field position in our direction.

2. Devin Smith is just like our offense. All our nothing, Either sick catch for a TD or a drop that could've kept the chains moving. I don't care what anyone says Corey Brown is our best WR.

3. Defense- for as much depth as we say we have we sure don't rotate very many guys. IMO, thats a mistake. Especially next year when we won't have williams, and Simon for sure and potetially Hank as well. Besides the current guys just aren't playing that great anyways so if the other team is going to move the ball it may as well get some learning experience for some of the back ups here and there.

4. Scheme on defense would be perfect if this team were fundementally sound, but sound we are not. If they're going to get first downs and pick up chunks of yards we may well try and create hell/turnovers by being aggressive. Playing passive with this group is just ignorant, but it is what it is. We'll continue to see this 10 yards off the ball for CB's and 20 yards off the ball for the Safties until we get another D-coordinator which at this rate will be next year if it doesn't improve.
