Oh no. Not again...Why did Virginia Tech agree to 2 games at Michigan in the first place?
“[Michigan] has just offered me today for the first time for football and baseball. I was just in the coaches office and looking at my Hudl when they called. … They told me they were looking at my film and thinking about offering me and asked if I was still interested in playing football. I said of course and just explained that I wanted to keep my options open.
“Then, Coach [Jim] Harbaugh came on the other end and told me that I could play both football and baseball. I couldn’t be any happier,” Velazquez gushed.
Agreed, being a 2 sport athlete is hard enough to do at a high level in HS, it's nearly impossible to do in a high D1 college. I remember Ronald Curry from Hampton, VA back in the day was a Parade All American in basketball AND football and one of the best athletes to ever come out of VA, and he struggled mightily trying to play football and basketball while at UNC.I know that I am biased as an Ohio State fan, but if Urban Meyer and that strange man offer me a scholarship, I know where I am going. Two sports is great in high school, not in college. Very few can pull it off, especially with the academic load. I hope this kids gets it right. I love it when the Karl Road kids end up at Ohio State.

My point is that this kid was/is regarded as one of if not the best athlete to ever come from VA, and he was decent in both sports in college. He was a starter for some of the most average UNC teams, and set records for a bottom feeder football team at a basketball school. And good enough to make it to the NFL. If he would've focused on one sport, he could've been a superstar was my point, COULD HAVE, let me emphasize that. Not sure what better examples you can come up withMeh....I’m sure there are better examples than Ronald Curry to make your point. Though he never set the world on fire as a PG, he was still a 2 year starter on the basketball team as a record setting QB on the football team...who also went on to play 6 or 7 years in the NFL. All said and done, he faired pretty well.
