Game Thread tOSU vs. Virginia Tech, Sept 6th @ 8pm ET, ESPN & ESPN3 Skycam

If we tackle, don't turn the ball over, and win win special teams we will win. I don't personally expect a lot of offense but watching tech they do a lot of quick passes and considering our well known defensive line we should expect the same. If we can get their WRs on the ground with no big back breakers I see no way tech can beat us by having to drive the field.

Tech will give us all we want with their defense. That's why their points need to be hard earned points, make them earn it.

The offseason is finally over & you guys are busy talking about ice cream...... :smash:

Well, as Groucho Marx often said, "Well, I'm sorry I brought the whole thing up!" :slappy:Now, you couldn't keep me away from Graeter's when I'm in C'bus for the Rutger's game. Hopefully, it'll be my victory dance. Will try the peach, unless it's seasonal. If not...........BUCKEYE BLITZ!!!!

Hope we kick VT into the middle of the next week!

GO BUCKS!!!! :urban2:

How does VT's defense look? The only matchup I'm a little worried about is their front 4 against our O-line. I think our front 4 is going to disrupt a ton of plays on Saturday

The two DTs look legit. #96 &#92

Those two vs the interior OL and their RBs vs our back 7 are the areas most likely to give OSU problems if there are going to be problems from what I could see but this early in the year who really knows?

If we play soft, cover no one zone like last year the QB will eat it up. I think VT will really struggle in the passing game if the changes in defensive philosophy are as advertised and executed.

The more I watch WM vs VT the less impressed I am.

VT offense only managed to drive the field for a TD twice. Two other TD's came on short fields after WM turn overs with a lot of help from some poorly timed WM penalties.

I dunno, I think the two interior DT's may be a handful given what we saw from the interior OL in the Navy game but overall they aren't very impressive considering they were getting a battle from William and freakin Mary.

I will be interested to see what the early line is for this one.

I'd say OSU -10 ish?

They've got to be saying the same thing about us though.
Need to see a lot of improvement on the OLine. I suspect that's partially why Herman leaned on the screen game so hard against Navy (the other factor to build JT's confidence)
If there's not significant improvement there, and they're able to gameplan for the screens then the offense could be in trouble.

Jury is still out on LBs and DBs, but poor tackling was still a problem.

The atmosphere should hopefully help us on D, but it won't do much for the OLine if they don't step it up.

There is a significant difference.
