tOSU vs Missouri, Goodyear Cotton Bowl, Friday Dec. 29, 8 ET on ESPN

If we come out normal and Brown goes down and Link just doesn’t have it yet and we lose, fine.

But We had a month to prep for this and the offense looked like it hadn’t practiced once. The line was sloppy, out of position, so many penalties.

The offense simply not working would be bad, but I can live with that. This was something entirely different. This was lack of preparation on multiple levels, across multiple QBs. This was not a case of “injured starting QB.” This was systemic offensive failure and that’s both not acceptable and becoming more regular.

This is where I am.

Gameplan got thrown off and Day showed 0 ability or confidence. And the team was clueless. Scheme something. Adapt. Win.

3 points…that is just. I got nothing. Long offseason.

I think a lot of this goes to the overall system and how Day wants to playcall most games. He doesn't have strong run concepts and so much is centered around the QB/WRs. His ability to adapt is limited when a QB or top WR does go down.

We saw heavy sets with a defensive lineman as a full back seem to be the only part of the running game that was working early in the game but once he had exhausted those couple installed plays he was left to go back his normal run concepts.

I believe he just doesn't install enough run stuff into the system to allow himself to lean on what could potentially work. Same goes with multiple TE or RB sets or plays designed for Xavier Johnson's playmaking ability.

Tressel had a similar situation in the Alamo Bowl and found a way to win...handily.

He was an actual HC. Day is an over paid passing game coordinator.

Ok, buddy. You jumped in without looking at what was being replied to or taking the extra steps to follow along. Again, try to keep up or just stay out of it…it’s not that important for you to interject, champ.
Knock it off. I’m beyond listening to it. We’re all frustrated, we’re all pissed off. Just stop

The most disappointing Buckeye bowl game I can remember.

I'm pretty sure you're at least my age, if not older. I remember losing at least two Rose Bowls that cost OSU national titles, including one to a UCLA team the Bucks rolled in the regular season.

Tonight's game had far less on the line.

There were losses that hurt more but this is probably the most embarrassing one for me just in how unprepared and shitty the offense was. The defense did everything they could to hold off a really powerful Missouri offense and our offense came out like today was the first time they’d seen each other since November.

The Buckeyes signed one(!) OL recruit in the 2023 class.
They signed four in 2022.
They signed three in 2021.
They signed five in 2020.

They have signed fourteen WR recruits in that same time span.

Inexcusable.
Yes it is inexcusable because it is untrue. We signed 2 offensive linemen named Armstrong alone!
