Okay, Final Thoughts (yeah, I'm trying to move on to next year real quick lol):

Defense: Knowles is legit and had them up to play all year for the most part. I hope everyone who can stay does because this D has a chance to be an all-time great unit next year. But I understand if Burke leaves and I am confident in the people behind him. I think JTT and Hall should stay, but I wouldn't be surprised if Hall leaves for life reasons.

Offense: Fix the line ASAP and the QB play will get better! Before this game, I had EE and TH staying but I don't blame both of them for seeing what is in the NFL after what they saw from the offensive line and QBs this year. Even after they leave, I still think the future is bright if the line can block someone consistently. All the other parts are there.

Also… Devin had a bum ankle all year. This was always a risk.

It’s the lack of Plan B and prep that leaves me with serious doubts.

I also live with the fact “what else are we going to do?” Day’s recruiting and coaching probably gets the Bucks in the 12- team playoffs 90% of the time. The rest is a coin flip.

But I don’t like our coin flip chances on this trajectory or prep.

I don’t know.

My final thoughts before bed.

Comparing Kienholz to Cardale is not fair. Cardale was in his third year in the program, while Lincoln was finishing high school baseball sixish months ago. Plus, not a single starter was sitting out of the games Cardale stepped into.

I’m wondering where Gebbia was. He has a ton more experience and is healthy, as far as I know.

Yeah, I think he could have managed 2 TD drives, at least - he also might have fumbled or thrown a pick that led to a score. But I think Misery's defense was able to look good because they were playing againt inexperienced QBs

To be honest I don’t think there was any saving college football once the money got involved. The amount of money the sport generates just makes the veil of amateurism and “school pride” kinda laughable. It’s amazing it lasted as long as it did.

uhm... Hicks played... and took a number of bad angles... one that allowed their QB to rush for a first down on that 95 yd drive....

Just to be the resident wise ass; you can’t choose the team you want to play for, you’re locked in to a five year contract, you can be labeled a franchise player to keep you out of free agency. So maybe college ball is as good as it gets for players.
