tOSU vs Missouri, Goodyear Cotton Bowl, Friday Dec. 29, 8 ET on ESPN

Frankly, the state of the OL and the lack of depth on the DL are fireable offenses IMO. These have been an issue most of the last 2 seasons and it came to a head tonight. Ryan Day needs to look at his approach to recruiting. Landing all these QBs and WRs is fun, but he has let the trenches decay to the point of gross negligence. Any coach worth his whistle knows games are won in the trenches. I'm not sure our guy gets that.

Ok what do you run with your freshman 3rd stringer? Seriously? OL isn't good, your QB can barely figure out the mike and who's blitzing. He immediately backpedals on most dropbacks.

This isn't magic. You don't will shit into existence. Guys have to practice and you put together gameplans. Get rid of Day though. 100% do it. I couldn't be happier to discuss anything else.
1. 1st string QB who won 11 games is run out of town.
2. 2nd string QB is known to be injured but no back up plan in case he is unable to finish game.(to be honest, Brown looked like he was still a back up when he was in the game anyway)
3. Day continues to run plays that have not been working all year. Runs to the outside that take a while to develop.
4. 2 players on the O Line were playing to punish guy who complained.
5 Day says subs are the responsibility of the position coaches.
6. Mass exodus to portal.
7. Continued bad decisionmaking of special teams players puts us inside the 10.

It isn't about having to play the Frosh 3rd stringer, It's about the lack of preparedness that they might need to play him and the poor preperation in general.

Zach Smith tongue-in-cheek said this in an interview with Curtis Grant. That there’s no dogs on the team. Guys like Jalin Marshall that would knock someone silly on a block and talk shit over you, or a dlineman with a couple misdemeanors.

Pryor and Iggy are dogs. I think it was Steele who almost broke their QB.
I like the overall mentality we have on defense. I think 1 coach isn't pulling his weight anymore and needs to retire or become an advisor.

It's the offense where i see a lack of intensity. WRs have dropped balls all year and like "whatever". Blocking is garbage across the entire front.

No, I just think he felt something. I mean most of all the players in the portal I see are leaving for lack of opp. But he was a STARTER. So he figured MJH was leaving and it was not going well? hell if I know. But that is odd and disappointing
I just don't think our QB and O line rooms are up to par with where we need to them to be. Kyle left for Syracuse and it wasn't like people were beating down his door. That kind of tells you where our talent in the room is right now.

We need to hope Air Noland or someone in the portal is the truth because I haven't seen anything to suggest that we have a NC winning QB in the room right now (I'll give Kienholtz the benefit of the doubt though, he was thrown into a bad situation tonight).

Perhaps that is where the comparison between Cooper and Day ends. Cooper recruited Will Smith and Robert Reynolds, for instance. I remember Reynolds choking Wisconsin's QB after a tackle, lol.

OL is BY FAR the biggest issue and makes it hard to evaluate Brown or Kienholz. I can count on one hand the number of times either had a clean pocket when they dropped back and still have fingers to spare. They still can’t run block for shit either. Day better be screaming at NIL collectives to get the best portal OLs money can buy. That’s easily the biggest Achilles heel this team has right now.

Instead he's benching Hinzman for speaking truth.
Not a good look..

What I read was he was told he would have to compete to be the starter next year and that wasn't what Daddy wanted to hear. I don't know if that's true, but he picked a spot where he'll undoubtedly be the starter as opposed to a team that could possibly compete for a title.

The depth on the D-line looked fine most of the year when they played. It's just they barely rotate JT and Sawyer Tyleke and Hall feel like they get 90% of the snaps. Curry Kenyatta and some of the other guys flashed in there but proceeded to play 10-15% of snaps

Yeah, how can you possibly making any judgement on Kienholtz in that game. When the OL managed to give him some time, he looked pretty good. They just couldn’t do that more than once out of every 4 or 5 plays. And the coaches continuing to call plays dependent on the OL winning their 1-on-1 battles gives any QB almost zero chance to succeed. The OL lost this game. Simply atrocious.

Noland is not the answer next year.

we got our Larry Coker.... lets just not fuck it up after we get rid of our Larry Coker
More Mark Helfrich feel to me…

Here’s what I think the major issue is.

Coach Day got away with running the entire offense for 4 years. Started losing coaches and then replaced those coaches with pretty bad hires. He promoted from within for 3 assistants on the staff and two of them severely under performed (QB and special teams).

Coach Day has got to step back from the offense and honestly consider a new system. Does it have to be completely different? No. However it needs some inspiration and freshness. Does coach Day forget how he got to be the head coach at Ohio State?
