tOSU vs Missouri, Goodyear Cotton Bowl, Friday Dec. 29, 8 ET on ESPN

Yeah, how can you possibly making any judgement on Kienholtz in that game. When the OL managed to give him some time, he looked pretty good. They just couldn’t do that more than once out of every 4 or 5 plays. And the coaches continuing to call plays dependent on the OL winning their 1-on-1 battles gives any QB almost zero chance to succeed. The OL lost this game. Simply atrocious.

I love when the holt pops up because people spelled Lincoln's name wrong. Actually, I laugh whenever the holt pops up.

I just don't think our QB and O line rooms are up to par with where we need to them to be. Kyle left for Syracuse and it wasn't like people were beating down his door. That kind of tells you where our talent in the room is right now.

We need to hope Air Noland or someone in the portal is the truth because I haven't seen anything to suggest that we have NC winning QB in the room right now (I'll give Kienholtz the benefit of the doubt though, he was thrown into a bad situation tonight).
Agreed. I expect people to sit out for the draft. I expect people to transfer if they are behind a Stroud or Fields.. but you are 11-1 and you transfer... why? Are you that selfish for... ? and what does that say about issues within the staff.. IDK

Been saying it all season.. there is something rotten in the Woody... it must be burned out and cauterized before it spreads further

So maybe this is right

But this game becomes the poster child for "here's this game we need to go win for no good reason and we might, for many reasons, not have all the dudes for that we are used to"

*And to be clear the part where we win 90+ pct of our games - these things don't come along often

For me, this is a. Interesting indictment on Day where it's all fucked up but scheme up a way to win. That he didn't is a problem... At least today (if it's a lesson to learn whatever

What I read was he was told he would have to compete to be the starter next year and that wasn't what Daddy wanted to hear. I don't know if that's true, but he picked a spot where he'll undoubtedly be the starter as opposed to a team that could possibly compete for a title.
Yes if what we think happened happened. I wouldn't want him back even if he was the best QB. And the way the team rallied around Brown kinda pointed out they might not have been all that big fans of how the Kyle thing went down and it sure didn't seem it was Kyle they were siding with

Any expectations I had for this game left with Brown. They spent a month getting him ready, said it was "Devin's game", and he got hurt in the first quarter. Expecting Keinholz to step in and save the day against a top 10 team wasn't anything I expected, and I got what I expected.
Then what prep is happening? This wasn’t a 1 game week thing. It was a month since the disaster. Day going all in on Brown - who wasn’t good either - tells me a lot.

He never liked Brown to beat average McCord. And he definitely doesn’t trust LK.

Frankly, the state of the OL and the lack of depth on the DL are fireable offenses IMO. These have been an issue most of the last 2 seasons and it came to a head tonight. Ryan Day needs to look at his approach to recruiting. Landing all these QBs and WRs is fun, but he has let the trenches decay to the point of gross negligence. Any coach worth his whistle knows games are won in the trenches. I'm not sure our guy gets that.
I agree, but I also don’t think the staff knows how to build depth. You can’t expect guys to sit on the bench and never play for 2-3 years. You have to give guys meaningful reps during the season.

If that is true, then I wouldn't want a QB who bails because of competition where you think you will fail

Noland is not the answer next year.
Who know, but I don't think Brown or Kienholtz (again I'll give him some slack as a true freshman with virtually no reps who didn't expect to play) are the answer either. Brown has a limited sample size and hasn't looked like a world-beater when in there. Plus, his injury issues may be a legit concern. After tonight, the competition should be fully open in the spring.
