Game Thread tOSU @ Sparty, Nov 8th @ 8pm ET, ABC

My biggest concern by far is the OL against their front 7 and then depending on how that holds up, the playcalling. If the OL does well, the playcalling will be more fluid. But if not I can see Herman once again curling up into a ball and running Dave left, Dave right, QB sneak.

If the OL struggles, I'm not sure what you want from the playcalling.

there's a reason why we went 3 quarters against the hokies only having given up 1 sack and the last 10 minutes giving up the other SIX. Playcalling, and really being only down by 7 to the chokies there was ways to get around what tech was doing.

Look MSU is going to win some battles they're too damned good not to. What TH cannot do is take a play or a series for that matter as a indication of that's how it'll be all game. You may get tackled for a loss or sacked out of the Wildcat but who's to say the next time Jalin lines up at QB he doesn't make a move and take it 50 yards. You can't make good on a opportunity if you don't even try it... Where as if you try, you may fail but at least you took your shot.

I'm sure that's true, I'm also positive that if the OL is struggling mightily, there won't be a great deal Herman or Meyer can "call" to make that better. If the OL struggles with their own lack of execution, then they will struggle regardless of the playcall. Meanwhile, Dave is at least simple enough that the possibilities of screwing it up are slightly reduced. I certainly hope it doesn't come to that, but it seems that folks might be convincing themselves that the coaches are to blame for any downfall before the game is even played.

I really like where we are coming into this game. We are an underdog on the road with a freshman QB that was just tested in a very tough environment, at night, away from the Shoe and prevailed. We are facing a team that knocked us out of a NC birth last season. The national pundits belittle us in their commentary and their bullshit polls. We have a coach who wants a pissed off team. I like being the underdog in this case. I am FAR from cocky headed into this game but I'm damn sure not scared and I don't think the team is either. Bring it on.

My one hope: If we find a way to gain momentum early, we sure better keep the foot on the throttle the entire game.

Against VT we win some and lost a lot. That tends to make for a long night.
Not until the 4th quarter when flood gates opened up though... when VT knew what was coming (throws down the field) yes it was extremely ugly

Edited to say we definitely have our hands full and them some... at some point though we just have to trust in our guys
