OSU does do a pretty good job with strategic calls in the transfer portal. So recruiting losses aren't necessarily a closed book, as much as a closed chapter. That's the issue

How has that not been the case forever in CFB and collegiate sports in general? It’s ALWAYS been the haves and have nots. We just happen to root for 1 of the haves. The 12teamCFP has just allowed a few teams like Boise State and SMU and Arizona State to make a cute appearance. But none were ever going to win the NC. And OSU and even ND would’ve curb stomped those teams by multiple TDs.This is all going to go the way of MLB in my opinion. There's going to be the LAs and New Yorks that can just out spend everyone and have the best talent every year. And there's going to be some schools that spend a lot less and have to develop the heck out of their rosters.
Occasionally one of those non spenders is going to hit the jackpot with a couple of players and make a run at it but for the most part, it's going to be the mega rosters in the playoffs every year.
Ohio State has no business ever being in the latter category so they might as well start ponying up and buying the guys they really want every year and be the bleeping Yankees of this thing!
I agree but for the record, Texas was lucky as shit to get past ASU last year. How has that not been the case forever in CFB and collegiate sports in general? It’s ALWAYS been the haves and have nots. Yes, but I expect the class to close with local in state or diamonds in the rough. So there probably won’t be any commits for a while due to further evaluationAre we going to land anyone else or what? Absolutely bizarre cycle. Is this NSD about to be insane?
