2023 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

By rough do you mean still in contention for the B1G title/Playoff? So rough. I guess this how spoiled we have became though. If it's not constant domination of everything in the B1G it's not good enough. Even with a "down" (lol) year in recruiting like this year, the rest of the B1G is still a good bit behind us. Michigan will remain a thorn in our rears in the near future, but anyone else? meh.

The way some people talk you'd think we were falling behind the Indiana & Maryland's of the world though.
Yes. That is exactly what I’m saying. We are used to being a top 5 team and competing for a championship. It seems every time we have a class in the 5-10 range, two years later is a shaky season with a lot of close games, unexpected losses, no big ten title and a consolation bowl. Yes we are spoiled.

Ah
Yes, yes, yes, until you talk about a mass exodus of players. Day and gene grossly fucked up this NIL mess, so we are in for a rough 2025 season at the least. This is beyond 2020 big ten covid cancel the season stupidity. It will take a massive 2024 recruiting haul and some key transfers to dampen the losses.

But where we aren’t screwed is current players are getting deals, it’s the up front NIL where they fucked up. So the only exodus I see is from players that don’t see a path to starting next year.
They can’t offer up front money. Quit blaming Day and Smith. Call your State Congressman to get it changed

Collectives need to not worry about this for 2 reason.
1. Any AG that files charges against a collective for making Ohio state recruiting better will not be an AG long.
2. The Supreme Court just said a school can’t limit a kids earning capacity. Why would a state be allowed to?

edit. The Ohio congress also needs to fix this. Just saying we don’t really have to wait.
