That's three straight classes (2018 to 2020) of meh recruits with little/no development. It's a long way between Chase Young and the Class of 2021.

Pretty similar to OL. Maybe something to do with COVID and normal amount of development for linemen?

We sure have seen a lot of freshmen breakthrough.

I don't think Togiai should be included on that list. He had a good career and was a mid-round draft pick

He’s included on the list because he was in the ‘18-‘20 class

I'll just take this opportunity to remind everyone he was barrel strong.

I love that one. It's up there with special powers to me.

Question: If Goodwin is indeed wanting to set up an official visit, do the OSU let him visit? And will his recruitment begin again as realistic possibility in this class? Henry is a nice project, but adding Goodwin to Tshaboula, Fitzpatrick and Henry can't be understated.

I guess if Goodwin did something unforgivable I'll trust the staff. Or it could be that they're making sure the interest is legit. If there's a chance, swing for the fences on him, one of the aforementioned guys can move inside and we'll have a great OL class with that mix. Our change to recruit more longer tackle prospects and move some inside rather than force guard prospects to tackle has paid off huge...keep that going.

Agreed! And with all of the complaints about Stud, Idk how anyone couldn't see flipping Goodwin as a win, IF that were to happen.

Have there been any reports on how young “fallbacks” other then Dewand are progressing?

Look like Prior has a bright future.

But I don’t think Toutant (sp), James, Leroux, have smelled the field for even PAT snaps.

The Portal has been good to us but overused ( we haven’t reached that point) reeks of covering up poor recruiting.
Diddy may be interested to know that James and Leroux both got their first offensive snaps against Indiana, at the guard spots, along with some ST snaps:

5-STAR OL KIYAUNTA GOODWIN (KENTUCKY COMMIT)
10004344.jpg

Rank: No. 5 offensive tackle, No. 30 overall prospect in the county

In The Mix: Alabama, Michigan State, Michigan, Ohio State

The Skinny: A monster of a human, the 6-foot-7, 300-pound Kiyaunta Goodwin surprised many when he committed to Kentucky back in April. Remember, the NCAA’s temporary dead period due to the global pandemic didn’t end until early June, which meant that Goodwin’s decision came before he could actually meet with coaches. Since things opened back up, the offensive tackle out of Charleston (Ind.) High has checked out a few different schools and spent this past weekend at Alabama. The Crimson Tide made a strong impression on Goodwin and will likely get him back on campus before the Early Signing Period per 247Sports’ director of recruiting Steve Wiltfong.

While Nick Saban usually gets the prospects he wants, a few Big Ten programs are also pushing for Goodwin in Michigan State, Michigan and Ohio State. All three are expected to receive official visits from Goodwin before he finalizes things. As it stands now, Goodwin would be Kentucky's third highest-rated commit in the modern era.

4-STAR QB DEVIN BROWN (USC COMMIT)
10521827.jpeg

Rank: No. 5 quarterback, No. 59 overall prospect in the county

In The Mix: Ole Miss, Texas, Ohio State, Notre Dame, BYU

The Skinny: Speaking of Ole Miss, the Rebels don’t currently have a 2022 quarterback committed, which is a bit surprising given what Lane Kiffin has done with Heisman candidate Matt Corral this season. The trigger man Kiffin seems to want? That would be Devin Brown. The pro-style talent has been committed to USC since October of 2020, but is evaluating his options as the Trojans look to find the right individual to replace Clay Helton and make things fun in LA again. Brown was in Oxford earlier this month for an official visit.

In addition to Ole Miss' interest, Texas and Ohio State are both fighting to get the Elite 11 finalist on campus. Notre Dame and BYU have also been in contact. Brown is currently in the middle of a senior season at Corner Canyon in Draper, Utah, where he’s averaging 355 yards passing and four touchdown tosses a game.

Some interesting names on the visitor list....

14 of the 16 current 2022 commitments are visiting (only Kenyatta Jackson and Bennett Christian are not), along with the sole 2023 commitment (Ty Lockwood).

4* 2022 WI OL Carson Hinzman is making at least his 3rd visit to Ohio State (official in June; Oregon game). 4* 2022 CA OL Earnest Greene is also traveling to Columbus. With 4* 2022 TX OL Kam Dewberry canceling, Hinzman and Greene might be the entire remaining OL board at this point.

Larry Johnson has a chance to make a (final?) impression with 4 top 2022 DL prospects - Caden Curry, Omari Abor, Hero Kanu, and Marvin Jones, Jr.

Both priority safety targets for the class of 2022 - Zion Branch and Xavier Nwankpa - will be visiting. Zion's younger brother - 2023 WR Zachariah Branch - will also be in attendance.

5* 2023 MI QB Dante Moore is passing on the battle of Michigan to see Ohio State under the lights. Three top 2024 QB targets - Jadyn Davis, Adrian Posse, and Dylan Raiola - will also be visiting, as will 2025 QB prospect Ryan Montgomery (younger brother of top 2023 OH OL prospect Luke Montgomery).
