I think the down round at WR is a culmination of two factors. One, we didn't devote much NIL resources to the position due to lack of need and a lot of guys like Ffrench do prioritize that even with our history of developing WRs. Two, the WR room is loaded and for a guy that wants early PT, then we are less appealing. I mean Tate and Innis were phenomenal prospects and got some PT, but had to wait their (brief) turn for a more substantial role this year. You can break through as a true frosh, but it is difficult now with how we have recruited.Maybe a bit off topic, but still in the OL recruiting thread. Believe that is why fFrench got turned off on the Buckeyes. Day & Co made a deliberate decision to carve up the NIL 'pie' to emphasize OL, as opposed to the usual WR/DB/QB packages. Specifically the David Sanders sweepstakes. So, if one notices, there are zero 5* WRs coming to Buckeyetown. Emphasizing the needed positions (OL), rather than WRs meant a bigger slice for OL, a smaller one for WRs. Actually believe this strategy is a very good one, and hopefully will pay dividends later today for Sanders. Go Bucks!
All that said, I see '26 being a much better class at WR. Plus we have a ton of eligibility left on some really good WRs, so the '25 WR class is in the back of my mind even though it would have been great to get some on top targets like Ffrench, Moore, etc.
