2018 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

Makes you wonder what the recruitment of Spielman, Pace and Katzenmoyer would have been like in the interweb age

I do recall Kat's recruitment being discussed. I didn't know anything about him other than the person, and I really can't remember who it was to said something about it, said that everyone was praying that he'd score well on the standardized tests so he'd qualify... Cannot for the life of me recall who said it.. but before the interwebs, the only other exposure I had to recruiting was living in Lincoln... and that was, well... interesting.

It's absurd! Some have "labeled" this recruitment as a "loser". When you finish with the second ranked class in any year you are not a "loser"! One has to wonder about the possible agenda of some of those saying "Ohio State was a loser on recruiting day".

Agreed. They lose out on a specific player and they have " failed " . Absurd logic at it's most extreme. Recruiting means going after top kids that 20 other top programs are also chasing. The odds are always stacked.

That they succeed with a high % is impressive.

You can win a game and have a bad 4th quarter.

You can have a great recruiting class and a disappointing signing day. I don't understand why folks think it is illogical to think those two things.

We didn't put the class together on signing day. On signing day we lost committed recruits and a believed Ohio near sure thing.

And despite what folks may bring up about character issues the kids had LOIs in hand.

Boy if only Thayer Munford, Max Wray, Michael Jordan were on scholarship in 2019.

Even better would be if junior Chase Young was jockeying for a high draft slot and doing so opposite senior John Cooper.

Alas, since I have not attended any drunken bull sessions lately, I did not realize that OSU was without those guys and had to turn to true freshmen.

How many teams have a single Nic Bosa or Chase Young or Jonathon Cooper or..........?
We have ALL those guys on one team right now!
And you don't need a five star at offensive tackle, just guys who will work their ass off!

Talking about the Iowa loss and how it was 17-17 when Jones and Knox left the game briefly with injury compounding the permanent absence of Bowen......”Urban Meyer said the team’s depth on the offensive line is “not even close” to where it needs to be.”
