2018 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

Ok, so we're two days out from early signing. There's clearly a couple out there that we'd like to get faxes from on Wednesday and frankly, I think that we'll all have to wait until Wednesday before we have any kind of decent indication as to what's happening.

Frankly, anybody who says they know anything more than we do at this point is either the kid(s) and family -- if they even know for sure, or someone who is trying to generate web traffic. The fact that there was information 'leaking' out yesterday is a joke. Nobody knows jack... and I strongly suspect that includes the coaches of the schools involved.

Hope we get who Urban wants and we'll just have to wait until the faxes start to roll in.

What's going to be interesting is what happens _after_ Wednesday. I'll be very curious to see who didn't send in faxes... both to the WHAC as well as nationally. Depending on how things play out, this could be even more interesting than NLOID normally is. Then again, if there's a mass signing, it could be a real yawn.

Who knows... But what I do know is who I trust for information and I'll personally be limiting my clicks to those sources.

The other difference with the early signing date is he coaching staff has less information than they will in February. The deadline for entering the NFL draft is still ahead of us. After the bowl game, the coaches will a conversation with every player about their future in the program. The staff will have a much better view of what attrition will occur. So, while the number may be 25 today, in a month it could be 26 or 27.

Do share.

BPRT is a pretty solid filter for information. Not sure how much is completely organic, but whatever is -- in combination of being realistic consumers of others' information make it the most realistic view I've come across. Probably the best source for a well rounded summary and collection of information across the board.

From there, I think that 11W provides a very balanced view of what's going on.

Birm from 11W ne Land of 10 ne wherever the heck he is now is also a good source. Follow him on the twitters...

While I don't mind Land of 10 the content isn't as solid or frequent as the above sources.

Most anything else I consider to be click-bait. Not that 11W and Land of 10 aren't a bit susceptible to being click-baiters from time to time, the content tends to outweigh the downside.

I don't pay Wade $79.95 a year to have to go to 11W or Birm

I have Jones and Woodbey out. Seen this movie too many times before. Late visits are never good. I was hoping the even later visit to FSU by Woodbey would only cloud things and maybe even cancel out USC but I think he stays out West. I agree Jones needs to seriously consider the Florida option for his own good. OSU will be fine with Haskins, Burrow, Martell and Baldwin moving forward.

I have Carman and Smith as in. There will be a lot of post-USC visit hype with Jack but I think he signs with the good guys this week. Would like to see Smith sign early and go public but that may or may not happen.

I think there will be a continued push for Rasheed Walker and Nicholas Petit-Frere but both are uphill battles, especially NPF. OSU still has its official to use on both I believe. Cade Mays ain't coming here.

I think there will be a continued push for one of the west coast LBs but they too will be uphill battles. Haskell Garrett could end up being the key to Gaoteote but not sure it is enough.

I think there will be a continued push for a trio from American Heritage (Campbell, Surtain, Chatfield) but I don't see OSU getting any of the three.

I think Cook is going to end up at Texas unfortunately. OSU did what it could but as the decision gets closer and the thought of leaving home gets more real, most kids circle the wagon back to the home school (see: Cox, Brenton).

I have no idea what to make of the Alex Williams situation. I know everyone thinks he easily ends up at OSU. I honestly haven't had him on my radar since the summer.

I have no idea what Cameron Brown is going to do. Almost seems like he will end up at OSU by default. Assuming OSU wants another WR in this class which they seem to want given them bringing in Olave for a visit as well.

I have no idea what is going on with Chris Oats. I think there are too many variables and I am going to guess he doesn't end up in this class. But that is nothing more than a guess.

@ShowMeBuck And there you have it. BPRT is tops in my book. Straight shooting. While I hope Wade is wrong on a couple of those trending away, there’s zero I’ve seen or read that suggests otherwise.
