2018 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

We aren't really competing with ttun, haven't for a while. We are competing against the Bamas of the world. Last year was their perfect storm of a class full of seniors, and they still lost.

Fair enough. Also in fairness we also lost when we had a perfect storm of talent in 2015. Also also in fairness we might have beat Clemson last year if we didn't have an extremely underwhelming 2015 class. That's one thing that separates Bammer from everyone else---they don't have classes like that.

Yeah, because Bama has been allowed to over sign for years, and guys they deemed not up to par got cut, so almost every class becomes elite.

True but give the devil his due, they still had to go stockpile the level of talent that they did.

Kentucky has been allowed to over sign for years too.

Disagree. It wasn't the misses in the 2015 recruiting classes that cost us; it was the misses with the 2015 offensive coaching hires that were our downfall. Saban has been more consistent with choosing quality assistants than Urban has. Urban's coaching tree speaks for itself, but there have been a few rotten apples that have fallen off that tree as well.

I'm sure Bama fans look at Joey Freshwater the same way we look at Tim Beck but I don't honestly know the Saban coaching tree well enough to have any more of an opinion that that.

No way can ever compare the level of talent Bama brings in compared to UK. Bama would bring 30+ 4-5stars and UK would bring in 30+ 2-3stars, no where near comparable!
You give Urban and OSU the ability to bring in 30+ recruits annually and then dwindle them down to the 20 best, we would have another 1-2 NCs and and more B1G titles

He really needs a GBY... acronym. His performance in that game might have been bigger than Spencer and Zeke (who had all time great games ).

LKTD! (Layla Kiffin Turkey's Done!)...which is all that ever comes to mind when I see him or hear his name.

Try this on for size....

OSU has had remarkable success on the field since UM came on board.

We have three returning 5 star athletes on our roster.

Including commits for next year, JUCOs, redshirts, and incoming Frosh - we have TEN 5 stars who have yet to play a down.

And since one of those returning 5 stars is a true Soph, we should have a minimum of ELEVEN on next years roster. Parsons and Cook could take us to THIRTEEN.

The future looks bright.

A plausible Ohio State Class of 2018 (revised 17 July 2017). Added TE Jeremy Ruckert as a verbal commitment, deleted OL Verdis Brown, who committed to Florida State. Glad to be wrong on both:
