Do we take 4 stars? If Alabama doesn't get any more commits (which we know they will), the next 4-star commit we get should jump us ahead of them.

I've conceded months ago that we wouldn't have the #1 class, and everyone knows it's due to our overall numbers. That average recruit ranki is what has me smiling daily. Not a chance any team comes close to us thereIf Alabama doesn't get any more commits (which we know they will), the next 4-star commit we get should jump us ahead of them.

Their insistence of quantity over quality will always favor the southern schools that routinely sign 25+ kids every year. I've always believed the true recruiting champ is the team with the highest rating average. Personally I think it's pretty dumb the way they do it. We'd easily have the top class if they were judging by what really matters. But I couldn't care less about a recruiting national champ. It's decided on the field, not paper. Ironically Bama has been winning both for years now lolI've conceded months ago that we wouldn't have the #1 class, and everyone knows it's due to our overall numbers. Kind of ballsy from the Michigan fan, if true, given that most "blue chip recruits" could probably beat the hell out of 99% of fans.
I'm not sure it's ironic since there is certainly a good amount of direct cause-and-effect relationship between the two. Which is why, while I agree it doesn't really matter whether OSU finishes #1 or #3 in the final "recruiting rankings", I'm glad they're in that cluster....I couldn't care less about a recruiting national champ. Then when you see we lead for the nation's #1 DT in next year's class, what sense does it make in stockpiling 3 star project DT's on an already deep depth chart?
Total agree with you there... for DTs and OTs we chase until signing day for the elite ones I think we both can agree on that.
Almost 13 months until NLOID 2018...lots can change. Then when you see we lead for the nation's #1 DT in next year's class, what sense does it make in stockpiling 3 star project DT's on an already deep depth chart?

Not necessarily, but the opposite is a pretty decent bet.so if Marshawn stays, no Sheffield? That sucks. I want both!
I was specifically referring to being the number one class. I was tired of typing lol Of course results in recruiting and on-field success is directly proportional. So finishing in the top five or ten definitely matters. My point is the way the "recruiting national champ" is decided favors large classes over smaller ones.Kind of ballsy from the Michigan fan, if true, given that most "blue chip recruits" could probably beat the hell out of 99% of fans.
