tOSU Recruiting Discussion

Gibson already stated if he were to come here he would LOVE to be mentored by Miller
To those of you who follow recruiting: What impact does Braxton's injury have on recruiting, especially at the QB spot? Assuming we discover at least one QB in Cardale and JT it would seem that the position is locked down for the next two three years.

It would take an amazing season to "lock down" the position and I don't think major QB candidates (like Gibson) would be afraid of any one player. As Brax has shown, you are never more than one play away.

Also posted this in the TSUN thread:
Painful as it might be, we need to pull for the weasels this weekend. I actually pull for every B1G team playing against non-conference foes, but it would be especially nice if tsun outscored the domers by at least a TD this weekend. The reason? Recruiting. We are battling ND for several huge recruits who will attend the game: Porter Gustin, Tommy Kraemer, Prince Sammons, Liam Eichenberg, Jake Hausmann, Ethan Tucky, Lavert Hill, Donovan Peoples-Jones, Michael Onwenu. Malik Henry as well, but he may already be a done deal to ND.
Now we don't want TSUN to look too good, because three of those kids are from Cass Tech. We want them to beat the domers in an uninspiring, hokish fashion...

The last class was great but the years before definitely hurt. Regardless, we need to round out a good class beyond Feder and Schmidt...really good start with those two studs, but we need 2-3 more.

It could be worse. We could have recruited well and in big numbers on the offensive live the last few years... and still be bad... like Michigan.

But yeah, the offensive line recruiting has been terrible. There's no sugar-coating it. We're starting former DL recruits at RT and RG; and guys Urban probably doesn't offer at C and LG.

So, to someone who doesn't follow recruiting as closely, what gives? 3 years of top recruiting classes, and we are stuck with DL recruits that can't make it in their unit + guys Urban doesn't offer?

Why?

Warriner is a heckuva coach it seems, so what's the deal?
