tOSU Recruiting Discussion

Pulled from the Darius Fullwood thread:
I don't see room but that is just my guess...could easily be wrong...

Dre'Mont Jones is in. It seems like he's a guy that is destined for DT.
The buzz is extremely positive surrounding Jashon Cornell right now, so I'll go ahead and pencil him in the class as well. He prefers DE over DT but he seems like a guy that could move inside eventually as well.

I assume they will take two more spots and that one of them will be a true DT.

Tim Settle is one true DT, but he seems to have some red flags.
Christian Wilkins was at the top a few months ago but things seem to have gone quiet on that front.
Neville Gallimore is an intriguing guy that just emerged during camp.
I know @RB07OSU really likes CeCe Jefferson (and maybe a few others?).

I think ideally they would like to take Jones, Cornell, Sweat and one of the true DTs.

If Sweat doesn't pan out is Fullwood right behind? are there other guys in-between at DE? or would they look to take two of the true DTs before turning to Fullwood at DE?

All of this could be moot if Fullwood kills it tomorrow during camp.

I'm just curious what other are thinking at DL right now. @wadc45 @MD Buckeye

@Buckeye86 I really like Jefferson but I think he is an extreme longshot at this point...if he wants in at some point, we make room though. I do like Cornell almost as much and I agree that he is starting to look more like an inside guy...at least there is flexibility. With the recent flurry of action, my best guess is identical to yours in Jones, Cornell, Sweat and a DT (Gallimore is my best guess, love his ability...I also really like Piqou). However, I would not bet against Fullwood...at one point, it looked certain we would take 2 QBs and 2 TEs and now it looks like probably only one at each...you would have to think that opens up a spot somewhere and with how LJ Sr. loves to rotate, I would love to have 5 total DL in this class if it is the right guys. I really like Fullwood and hope he ends up a Buckeye. Sweat is the only true DE on that list and I would not mind another pass rush guy like Fullwood.

I see a combo guy in Jones, depending on how much weight he puts on. He has the frame but we shall see. Could play inside or out...like they did with Heyward and like they've done with Bennett. I guess I am the only one who didn't love Fullwood's recent camp film. Let's see what he does at OSU today. I know he really likes OSU but there are some big time players still available. As far as DEs I am a big fan of Sweat and I am a big fan of Porter Gustin. After those two I like Darrell Taylor. At DT I really like Christian Wilkins and Neville Gallimore. I like Quay Picou behind those two. As I mentioned I was okay with Taylor picking ND. Would love to see a class that includes Cornell, Jones, and one each of Sweat/Gustin and Wilkins/Gallimore. Lots of flexibility there for LJ Sr. after getting Slade, Holmes and Thompson last year.

I wonder what Damien Harris' time table is. Sure does seem like we're definitely in the running, if not the leader. The momentum is pretty strong right now and I wonder if he could be part of this class by summer's end. On the other hand, he's a northern-ish kid with offers from everywhere. If I were him, I'd take my officials.

http://247sports.com/Article/Ohio-S...imb-Up-247Sports-Recruiting-Rankings-29201121

Every source that 247Sports talks to with knowledge of the situation continues to say that Ohio State is the team to beat for the nation’s top-ranked running back Damien Harris. He’ll be back in Columbus on Thursday, and the former Michigan commit also plans to take his official visit for the game against the Wolverines in November. Having reopened his recruitment once, Harris has told 247Sports several times he wants to wait it out before making another commitment, but it sounds like something drastic would have to happen for Ohio State to lose its lead. Kentucky appears to be running No. 2 at this point.

He told Givler in early June that he might decide after his senior season but regardless of when a decision is made he plans to take all five officials. He is considering enrolling early.

If we could bring in LJ Scott and Damien Harris, what a RB haul that would be. Especially if EGW is able to stay in this class. As I understand it, he's had off-the-field issues that could put his scholarship in jeopardy. I'm really pulling for him to get things straightened out, even if he ends up somewhere else. However, if he does end up in this class, those two backs compliment his skill set tremendously, in my IMO.

I've seen speculation that FUMA might be in EGW's future. That route has worked out well for a few notable Buckeyes in the past and if it comes to that hopefully it will help EGW as well.

Looking ahead to '16, everything you say about EGW complimenting Scott and Harris applies equally well to Hill and McCall.
