We have the above recruits committed to Ohio State only 6 weeks after 2012 signing day and some people are starting to worry about the 2013 class? The two positions of weakness that Urban Meyer found most glaring when he took over were LB and OL, and we can all agree that he closed the 2012 class with 5 LB's and 2 OT's, right? He has put offers out to several other OL for the 2013 class and has a commitment from Evan Lisle already, so it's safe to say that he is still pursuing OL for the team. Other than OL and LB, I believe that Coach Meyer wants to see what he has after Spring Practice to really see what positions of need he wants to pursue. There is a reason that he is telling recruits that he wants to evaluate them at camp (Zaire and Trusbisky for sure, most likely others) before taking commitments from them. Coach Meyer will use the spring to evaluate the current players on the team and the summer to evaluate potential commitments. Obviously he'll accept commitments from some recruits, but I expect a huge wave over the summer. Just my 2 cents.

Besides Logan/Fox the OL and the the Saftey they got late last year Michigan has signed up kids that we really haven't been interested in. This will either serve Michigan well or will really bite them in the ass. I tend to believe there is a reason the home state school hasn't offered so while what scUM is doing is impressive as far as sheer numbers it remains to be seen what this class will actually accomplish for them. As has been stated a number of times their QB commit's numbers are underwhelming to say the least, and to me i'd take trubisky anyday.

That said I suppose Breneman selecting PSU, and now Hauerman really loving LSU is whats really throwing me through a loop. Like ya'll said though it's a long season, and once Stoney goes for 700-900 yards with 10+ Td's that may change some minds.

What Ohio kids did Michigan get that we offered? Thomas has not signed with Michigan yet AND YOU CAN THANK THE LAST STAFF THAT DEBACLE. Butt was being recruited as a HB. Give me McNeil, Huerman, and Baugh or 2 of those 3...they are all better talents tan Butt.

Lets see if all the kids from Ohio Michigan gets make it in the classroom. It might nip them in the end.

Scout is giving Michigan huge rankings because they want memberships. Just like last year several of their prospects were vastly overated. I watched all 4 AA games and the only Michigan kid that stood out was Pipkins. OSU has several that were MVP's.

Yes Michigan as a nice OL class but nothing Carr would not have gotten. How many Ohio OL are in their class? I see they have 2 overhyped Cass Tech kids.

Ohio state is recruiting to win NC's not the B10 championship...end of discussion.

Still fully confident that we will have a top 3 class and finish ahead of UM.

That said, it is unsettling to see UM doing so well with so many Ohio kids and some bona-fide head to head recruiting wins. Granted, we didn't offer a lot of those kids and Meyer is still playing catch up on kids that Hoke has been working for over a year. The closer you look the less reason for concern - it is just different than what we are used to, and not what we were expecting after the incredible two months Urban started with.

But we will be fine.

As for the bolded section of the quoted post - like it or not recruiting is now an end in itself as well as the building block of success on the field. We follow it daily and celebrate our standing based on third part rankings and our own opinions. We can look back later and see how foolish we were, but on that first Wednesday in February many of us either hang our heads or pop champagne corks - particularly in regards to our standing relative to that team up North. (You know the one that finished behind us in every major recruiting service ranking this past season after leading for three quarters.)

Had more time to see film on most of the current prospects and these are the guys I'd love to be in this class that I think we have a somewhat realistic shot with:

QB:
JT Barrett
QB: Trent Hosick (Not real sure on how realistic this is just yet)
RB: Derrick Green
RB: David Williams
WR: Robert Foster
WR: Shelton Gibson (Still not sure how good he really is)
WR: Devon Allen
TE: Josh McNeil
TE/H-Back: Mike Huerman
OL: Evan Lisle
OL: Ethan Pocic
OL:
Colin McGovern
OL: Another OL currently not on radar
DE: Joey Bosa
DT: Billy Price
DT: Greg Webb (Although, I'd like to see Donovan Munger here as well)
LB: Courtney Love
LB: Alex Anzalone
DB: Cameron Burrows
DB: Eli Woodard
DB: Su'a Cravens
ATH: Jalin Marshall

Longshot: Marquez North or Mackensie Alexander

Might wanna add Thomas to the list...

I'll add Thomas once I see fit. Once he visits or is quoted as saying something regarding tOSU. I don't see it proper to add him to the list when he's a member of a different class & there's no solid info on him switching currently. All info out there is opinion, right now. It's a long way to go.
